Hi All. My wife picked up her new motor last night (the dealer wanted the sale pushed through for month end) and is now a proud member of the Mk 6 fraternity. For the record it comes with DSG, Metallic Silver, Sports Pack, Sunroof, MDI, Bluetooth, and mats all for the princely sum of $35,300 on road. It's certainly a step up from the old 1.6 L Mk 5.

Car is ready, however waiting for a set of Detroits to be made available.. Doing a 'dealer swap' with the wheels however nobody is giving them up..

the story so far....headed out to vw hoppers crossing and the same old scenario, nothing for 3-4 months. or nothing with acc...worse of all, they couldnt even match the previous dealers price and concurred they are either losing money or have made a mistake....?
so the order of dealer preference is barloworld and essendon, the two so far are willing to play ball and get a sale and throw in on roads....!
Mildura are fighting hard to get the deal and gave me a ripper trade in offer, but ill find out tomorrow about ordering new....c/w,acc.dsg.detroits.bixenon...

You Table Bashing Friend is Going to Pick up His GTI Today!!

Ordered on 14 Jan, car landed Melbourne on 22 May, 4 months 8 days, and finally we are going to pick up our new car today afternoon (total waiting period 4 months 18 days) , and i am happy i can use this car for our wedding.

i will soon post some pics on, thanks to this forum, it is giving lots and lots information and helpful hints.

Congrats, I ordered my car on the 16th January and was told tomorrow would be delivery but then on the next phone call back peddled a bit and hasn't confirmed. Getting kind of annoyed at the lack of communication.

No, it was on the Tombarra. Docked in Sydney on 10th May, so it should be any day now...

i asked my dealer to put priority tag on the car, so only took 10 days to clear and detailing

Thats good, congrats.... but please use the existing threads instead of creating a new one for yourself. This forum would be unmanageable and useless if all 1000+ new Golf owners each month created their own thread - which is why we have these stickied threads

I've nearly had my gti for 2 weeks now and I have just managed to get out the car and write in this thread. What an amazing car. Just got it apr tuned yesterday and WOW. Makes it just that much better. Cannot believe the quality of the car in all aspects
