lucky guys!! TDijetta09, when did your ship dock i think you told me but ive forgotten and cant find the post. I HOPE i get mine next week, ship docked on the 8th May, im feeling it could be very very possible

Hi, mined docked 1st May and arrived at the dealer 13th. I just have to wait till next friday for the person flying up from the ACT to buy my old car. So 1st week of June I should be crusing in the Golf! I reckon you'll have yours by the end of next week. Good luck with it all mate.

But ordered Golf 118TSI DSG today. Put my mony down!
Extras include RCD510 Dynaudio, parking assistance including camera (Forget the self parking, bit of a gimmic) and after the recent flack re blowups,
extended warrenty!

I know I can speak from experience and say that I was happy with them. My dealer was friendly and was willing to negotiate at time of purchase and staff answered my questions in a timely manner post purchase. Car was prepared very well, eta was roughly the time the initially told me, dealer run through was detailed...

Greetings all
Made my deposit today.
On order is 118TSI, Shark blue, DSG, with RCD510 Dynaudio, and park assistance, including camera. (Forget the auto park, just wanted it for the other goodies)
Had a lot of concern re advertised engine blowups. Feel confident VW has now under control, but just in case have included extended warrenty.
Real excited about coming delivery, despite long wait. At last will have a car giving real enjoyment in driving.
BUT, MOST IMPORTANT, thank heaven I stumbled onto this website. My dealer also requested details, did not know of it!
What a wonderful source of information

Me too, i had trouble free dealing. Was always always given correct information when i was waiting for car. I picked up my GTI this Tuesday, Excellent detailing & every thing right on spot. Very helpful delivery manager (Cathey) i gave her hard time calling almost every day in last week of delivery. I had no troubles at all & they were perfect for me.

Argh! Mine isn't being delivered to the dealer until mid-to-late next week even though it's listed as having being delivered from the shipping company. So this means at least a week and a half wait now...

This is actually incorrect. Liner release does not mean the car has been offloaded - that status is "Discharged". Note that the quantity for Liner Release is not "1".

I've seen several examples (including my own car) of Liner Release occuring approximately 8-10 days before the ship arrives in port. As per Christopher's comment above, I'd say it's the docks anticipating the arrival of the car and accounting for it.

My GTI is on the Asian Dynasty bound for Melb and today the status has also changed to "Liner Release", but not due until 31/5. So, same as above....getting ready!

Hey Guys,

It's probably been asked before but im just wondering if anyone could tell me how long it took to get notification from the dealer that the car had been booked in to be built or 'Handed over to Production'

Contacted the dealer early this week about some extras i want with my order and he mentioned the car was still 'on order' (its been a month already, so it seems they wont be delivering on their 4 month promise)

Just wondering if this is normal and im getting a little carried away or if it something to have concern about.
