Message from my dealer a few days back(thanks Phillip). Due to be built next Tuesday with an expected delivery early/mid June. With Customs, ADR etc, I'm expecting a late June delivery. Hope I dont put the mocker on it.

Spoke to my dealership as well. The GTI was ordered early March and being built over the next few weeks with an arrival in Melbourne on 21st June with and early July delivery... sounds like about the same time line I got!

Just heard from my dealer - delivery tomorrow (Fri)
Wooohoooo it's going to be difficult to sleep tonight. Just like XMas eve.

Finally ..... ordered 13/11/09 ... arrived 9/4/10

Picked it up at 4pm today

Fantastic car - well worth the wait

Well my car is sitting at the dealer waiting to be registered, tinted and premium BT to be added! The most unexpected thing was that when i got through my updated contract its telling my car was built Jan 2010!!

She is a 2010 build Pick up thursday i hope...!!

Hi Guys, We ordered our new 103TDI Comfortline way back in Feb and were told delivery would be the 12th of April. When we recently contacted the Sydney dealer he said there would be a delay in delivery due to a fatal accident that had recently occurred at a container terminal in Sydney. I thought cars and containers were unloaded at seperate locations.
Has anybody else heard of or been told a similar delay in deliveries?
We have been counting down the days and have even arranged holidays so we can take our new Golf away.

Same here Mk6 GTI! My dealer just called me up today and told me my car has arrived at the dealership! Now that I just need to wait for them to register it and put my tint on, and I'll drive it away on Thursday!

Who's your dealer? 3 days to tint and register seem a long time, or is that because you cant get there earlier?
Mine's awaiting transport from Port Kembla to Melb.. and then they have to fit the BT and register.. I'm personally hoping for a wednesday pickup, but I havent even heard from the dealer yet.

Hi entice, I got mine from Barloworld Glen Waverley. They have a lot of cars to prepare for apparently. Considering your car is still at the port, I doubt your car will even be at the dealership within the week. My car was discharged from the ship on the 23rd of March and it only arrived at the dealership today...

Mine too.. was discharged on 23rd. Build completed on the 8th, and Ready for transport on the 10th. dealer just needs to fit B/t, Plates, rego sticker, and give it the once over....

Hey entice, is your car still at PK? Mine was discharged on the 31st and i have bought at Barloworld Glen Waverley as well. Wonder if our cars will come together?

Yep, still at PK. "ready for transport" apparently, but not yet on a planned load. Mine's headed to Essendon.

is yours also a 2010 build? I'm glad mine turned out to be.. I found it odd to wait this long for a 2009 build! We will have to share photos hehe

The reason why mine is taking a week is because I changed from standard bt to the premium bt. The model i asked for is not usually offered. So he said that might delay it. I am going to be contacted on Monday to be given a concrete date. Otherwise it would have been Tuesday as the car arrived at the dealer on Thursday last week..
