The official I have ordered/received my new MKVI thread
Ordered my new car a few weeks ago, but no idea when she will arrive.
I love this forum since it has been really helpful in providing information on things that I would have never thought of.

Just off the phone with my Dealer..... Black 4-door (sorry, just find it hard to call a hatch, a door..), 6-spd manual, MDI. In stock.
Finalise my trade and changeover this coming Saturday...All looks good from my side. All cards falling straight, I should be behind the wheel sometime next week..
Update with my situation.....
Well, ALL my cards didn't fall as planned....but I'm pleased to say that ALL issues have now been resolved.
Last Saturday is best left in the past.....next week will be my new beginning, as a VW Golf GTI owner.. ..
RE: the MkV, I dunno, as soon as I got it, all these GTI's started appearing out of the blue.
I was looking for an out-of-the-way spot to minimise trolley-rash on the first day, and that red one was just there... I guess I just gravitated to it.
To make it more freaky, I parked mine at my wifes office building in the city afterwards, and guess what, it is next to another MkV GTI.
Coincidence? I dunno...
Hey, Mk6, it looks like you ordered a works-burger there. I would have loved xenons and the dynaudio, but I have the patience of a 2 year old, so I settled on a colour and find the one with the closest specs availlable now. Only finalised the GTI decision two weeks ago. The Mazda 3 MPS is faster in a straight line, but APR will fix that, and the rest was a no-brainer for me.

Congratulations.
Makes me even more eager for mine.
Spoke to the dealer today and he confirmed that it's on the ship arriving 18/3.
Hoping to get it before Easter.

It might be if you are lucky as other dudes. My car was unloaded on 25/02. Still waiting. My dealer sent me a email today with screenshot of Patrick Autocare's tracking webpage. It says the car is "Ready to Transport since 12/Mar/2010". Hopefully the car will be with my dealer by early next week.

I was at Barloworld mascot today and they had at least 10 GTIs at the back (with Patricks barcode stickers). I saw a CS and thought that (by chance) it was mine - not quite.
