Assessors saw the car. Noted issues - plenty of inclusions (dirt in paint) and runs plus poor panel fit
Waiting on next step. They were meant to call later today - nope
Assessor agrees bumper needs respray, Q respray as well, List goes on.
I have requested a new company.

if it's any consolation, i dinged my car on the weekend - reverse sensors didn't pick up the low corner of a garden edge thing... which was unfortunately reinforced with steelso i have a tiny spot of missing paint... not too worried since the bumper is plastic so won't rust, but don't want moisture getting under the paint through that hole so trying to get myself a little bottle of rising blue touch-up paint.
would be an eyesore in CW but hardly visible in RB... let's see how helpful the dealer isCurrent: MY18 Golf R 7.5 DSG - FOR SALE

Well, I am being sent back again to the repairer, now have to wait for them to contact me. They assured my insurance that they would put things right.
More time off work and more time without the car. I dont hold much hope for a decent job but that is the process and if not, I will then need to seek out another repairer.
Over this I have to say.
Edit - update
OK
They just called.
Will be dropping the car off tomorrow morning and they will need it for two days.
The guy I spoke to admitted human error and that they will sort it out - was very apologetic.
Will be talking with them in more detail when I drop it off. Means two more days off work although I can hopefully do a work from home.
Hopefully, when I pick it up Friday, it will be a nice start to the weekend although I'll probably spend most of the weekend getting rid of buffing marks and swirls ....
Fingers crossed.Last edited by Candyman; 29-11-2011, 01:42 PM.8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

Don't disagree but just want it fixed so will be talking with them nicely
Should not have happened but it does, frequently.
Most important thing is that it is sorted this time.8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

Maybe they already did by applying more paint than was necessary
Not sure what they could offer as compensation.
Anyway, car is cleaned out again and off first thing tomorrow. Pity the rain is setting in as the runs and imperfections won't be as easy to see8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

go out there with a whiteboard marker and circle everything you see as a problem

NRMA already did that and took photos - fluoro green (on RB they use black permanent marker because the RB paint is rubbish anyway)
The whole bumper will be stripped and repainted anyway
Q panel will also be repainted
I just wanted them to be able to clearly see them in the sun (how my wife spotted them)8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW
