    Hahaha

The fridge has been washed twice in the one day !

Loved the wet weather - gave me a chance to get her dirty on a mud track near Windsor.

    • Just had a mate over with an XR5 and gave him the keys to the R.. needless to say after getting out after a squirt the surgery to remove the grin is going to be expensive however he is now in touch with RECODE..

        • Oh FFS

          The sun shows everything

Wife picked up multiple runs in the paint

Calling insurance tomorrow and will demand a new bumper painted elsewhere

I really feel like naming and shaming these guys plus they damaged the front bar

What are the rules on naming companies like this

          • I think as long as you don't say anything defammatory, that should be fine. All you need to do is name the company and let the photos tell the story.

            • What I'll do is let anyone know via pm if interested.

Just hope my insurance doesn't make me go back to this company

                • Gets worse

Parked it out in the sun to get more photos, where they have blended it up the Q panel, there is a fair amount of dirt in the paint plus wetsanding marks. A few bits of dirt in the bumper but if it wasnt for the runs and sag, I'd not be worried.

I'd say they have also buffed it all the way down the roof line as there are buff marks along the roof edge. These will all come out, and I could easily do it but not touching it until the assessors have seen it.

What worries me if this is how they do paint, what about the R's that were in there for a lot of panel and chassis work !

Oh and in that first photo there is also an additional major sag about the middle of the photo. More obvious in real life. About 4 inches long. Looks like excessive layering. Will not cut out due to the depth

                  • Not sure you are going to get anyone else to do it, NRMA won't pay the folk who have done it till it is right

                    • If they are a VW recommended repairer I would let VW Aus know about the poor quality job. With work of that (low) standard they simply should not be repairing cars of any calibre.

Hope you get it sorted with minimal pain.

                      • You might be right but I'll try given they have already had a second go at it and damaged the car the first time.

If the current mob have to do it, I'll push for a new bumper to be done by them off the car and just get it installed

Failing that, I'm screwed because they clearly can't spraypaint.

They have been advertising for apprentice spraypainters - maybe I got one !

                        More runs

                          • WTF!!!! Man that sucks big time. No pride in their work by the sounds of it. Feel for you and hope it eventually gets sorted.

I reckon we should be able to name and shame if there is clear evidence of shoddy workmanship but that's only my opinion.

Hope you get to hop off the that roller coaster you're on.

                            • if it helps, its not defamation if you hold an honest opinion of what you're saying.

btw i encounter bad repairs on my car too. cloudy patches below the clear coat and while taking pictures of that, noticed that the bumper wasnt attached properly. theres a gap between the tail lights and the bumper. sloppy work

Until I talk to insurance tomorrow I'll only mention the repairer via pm.

Hope you get the issues you mentioned resolved.
