Does running the low beam constantly as a DRL's make the Xenons not last as long?

Is there some way of enabling that little light underneath the main xenon light as a DRL's?

        Seems abit half assed?

I can only assume you're a troll because no-one can ask the questions you do and ignore the answers that are given in plain english

This was answered on page 1. The life of the bulb is expressed in hours so what do you think.

There is no way of enabling the parking light as a DRL as it's a parking light used for parking the car hence the name parking light.

Thats all good and well, but im sure I have seen pics online of BOTH of the little lights under the Xenon's on while the car is driving.

How can that be a parking light then?

Is it different for each country and what their design rules are?

The parking light on every car stays on when the headlights are on!

              • Xenon HID upgrade

                Hi guys..

The dealer couldn't find a GTI with Xenon lights together with the other options i ticked..

(To get the end of year sale they must deliver the car before 30 June)

I ended up picking up a black GTI (ordered carbon steel with Xenon) without Xenon..

Black one turned out to be stunning and better than I expected

                So I am happy..

I am hoping that i could still get my stock headlights upgraded with aftermarket HID ..

Any suggestions and what is the price i am looking at?

                Cheers

Around $5-6000 to fit the OEM system.

And before you buy an ebay special set of HID's for $60.....

Do a search, this has been done to death so many times. Unless you have a spare $5-6000 you can't retrofit the oem Bi-Xenons.

                        • The standard GTI lights are slightly whiter than usual. Not quite Xenon white/blue but certainly whiter from the standard yellow light (compare to the DRL to see the subtle difference). Its fairly similar to the accord euro HID lamps which look white.
Anyway, thought it might make you feel abit better.
The coverage by the standard lights are pretty good by itself but if you want better, can always turn the driving lights on as well (not totally legal).
I don't think the 3-6000 bucks is worth the xenon upgrades, that's almost a year's worth of fuel for something cosmetic to be honest.

I agree with booya I dont know why people are hung up with Xenon lights could be just me...99% I am driving in suburban where there are streetlights not sure they would benifit me that much. In Europe there is more need for them where people travel with their cars often from one small town to another and yes then I would take but here I hardly go out of Adelaide.
