  • Wondering if someone could me out for pricing these up.

I am looking at getting a price on a new gti.

    Specs are;

5 door Rear camera Park assist Leather seats dsg

Also how much for headlights ?

Then a price on gti 3 door Rear camera Park assist dsg And head lights.

Am I right in thinking that if I order a near car it will be my12 meaning comes with Bluetooth and mdi?

    Thanks.

About $46k is what you should aim for. I've got a white 5dr DSG with leather for $45 on order, so add in paint colour and camera
Also how much for headlights ?

Headlights are included Bi-Xenons are an $2,000 which is a bit rich in my opinion

Same as above less $2k for the 2 less doors.

Yep, but I would specify on the contract that you want a MY12 to ensure that you get these. There are a few MY11 and MY11.5s hanging around and dealers are looking to get rid...

Check out Corey's excel spreadsheet on the first page of this thread and then put in the options that you want and you will have a guide to the RRP. Then aim for 10+% discount and go from there

      • I saw on today's west that It seems vw is offering drive away deals on the golf range, excluding ed35 and r models. I'm wanting a gti, candy white, 5 door dsg with leather and roof, or leather and xenons + Detroits/mdi/blue tooth. Given the sale, is 44k achievable from people's experiences with the past eofy sale?

Seems a bit optimistic for brand new one as leather and roof alone add $5,000 to the list price, and the detrioits are another $1,200.

FYI - I got mine in May in CW with detroits and bluetooth (5 door DSG) and paid $44k flat, which was about 11.5% discount which included my corporare plus....

          • Yeah, was offered the same for 44.5 last month. My logic with the sale was to try for something a little better. Can only ask

            • If you were offered that last month, you should've taken it before they realised their mistake....

$44,500 for GTI 5 door DSG with Leather and Sunroof is a 18% discount. Being such a low spec car, so far away from any stamp duty or LCT threshold, I would say optimistic is overstated, that "dreaming" is more like it. So $44,500 doesn't even sound believable, let alone $44,000

Btw... "sale" just means that you have less negotiation to do. The WA government aren't waving rego or stamp duty, insurance companies not waving insurance, the federal government not waving GST etc etc. The dealer is just "paying that for you". In other words, the exact monetry situation is still into effect. So if you get offered $44,500 again, don't be a stickler for the last $500, lol.

              • Sorry, the same specs as f_a above. With the sale I was hoping to be able to get the leather and lights/roof thrown in. Might be dreaming!

                Comment

                • Oh... the same as f_a. Cool. Then yes, I can confirm that you're 100% dreaming unfortunately.

As I said, the "we pay your onroads" EOFY sales are just that. They pay your onroads. But the thing is, they ALWAYS pay your onroads, the that costs the same whether there is a sale or not. Therefore, the only thing a "sale" means is that you don't have as much negotiation to do to get to your target price. It's "bargaining for lazy people/bad negotiators" if you like. This means that there is no more "margin" etc to be had. In fact, the best prices we've seen here always come OUTSIDE of sale periods. As sale periods mean the dealerships are really busy, and therefore they're less likely to spend time negotiating extensively (or at all in some cases).

That comes from reading the 1000 odd pages of VWwc member comments from all the pricing/specs/questions threads in the MK6 forum over the last few years...

                  Good luck

                  • You might get leather or xenons thrown in if the car was

                    1. A demo with a few thousand kms (a very thrashed car in other words)
                    2. In a colour no one wants (e.g. Silver)
                    3. A 2010 build car which is a whole year old (I know Australs have a silver car unsold for a long time which is 2010)
                    4. The salesperson was smoking something when he agreed to it (which should be an sackable offence either way)

Otherwise, you have to remember that the dealer does not make a huge amount of dough on a $40-$50k car. Big discounts occur at the top end ($100k+) as a large portion of the price has LCT,GST and Stamp Duty factored out. Quite misleading

Absolutely agree with you on this one! Doriae86 should have accepted the offer.

Yep, and the fewer options you have the less wriggle room there is on price as well.

                        • Put a deposit down on a GTI... good deal or not?

Basically just rocked up at the VW dealership and put down a holding deposit on:

MY12 3door White Golf GTI manual
                          18" Detroit
                          Stock BT& MDI (MY12 standard)

For $38,990 drive away. Is this acceptable you think? Basically it's the basic car price with the detroits thrown in.
Delivery is in two weeks, it was a tad impulsive...
I knew I want a GTI but I'm afraid I settled too quickly

Any tips when dealing with finances or is it a set rate etc?

any price >10% off the full driveaway price on a Mk6 GTI, is a good deal! has to be new though.
