Just bought a silver GTI DSG for $37500 with corporate plus discount. After paying just over $44k for my last Golf (mk 5 TDI w leather), I feel somewhat better this time around.

so percentage saved is just under 15%.. Quite happy with that as it's on the higher saving band without the corp discount (went on the VW driveaway spring special - which works out better than corp)


Also guys, floor mats come standard on the GTI - Please make sure the dealer doesn't charge you!

i think most golfs come with the std plain black mats. there is also the "GTI" embroidered mats with the red piping which usually cost $200. they wont throw them in for free tho, usually

According to the book, the 'carpet mats - front & rear' come standard on the GTD, GTI and R.... But you're right it's probably not the red piping style

Yeah that was drive away with corporate plus discount. Think it was about $39.5k without.

True, but I don't want to get screwed on price. Got a quote for 5 door, white, DSG, with 18inch Detroits for $44.5k. That includes corp. Seems a bit too steep for my liking.

That's crap, back when I got my R, they gave me a price for a black GTI, DSG, sunroof, leather and Detroits for $46k with no corp discount

while u may not want to get screwed on price, you should still have a price range that ur happy with.
otherwise u will forever be "shopping" for the best price.
the alternative is to buy a used gti.
and also, that price of $44.5k is pretty rude

I've got a price range in mind... low 40's... like 41k would sound reasonable to me. Looking at this thread, people were paying around 40k (give or take) for the same specs. So I don't think that's unreasonable.

We are only trying to use the thread for what it is designed finding out what others have paid before us. It is just a pitty I did not buy before New year.

Any body got any quotes lately. I got one for black gti five door with dsg 18 inch and leather and $48371 drive away that is with corp plus discount.

Normally $52949.

I don think it is very good, any thoughts
