Golf GTI Mark VI Specifications and Prices

So, im picking up my new gti on Monday..... (had ordered a polo gti but its been delayed by 8-16 weeks, needless to say, i dont want to wait)

$41,000 for a new 2011 MY12, carbon steel, stock apart form 18" detroits..... still not sure if its that great a deal.

Thoughts?

current driveaway deals for GTI, Manuals, at 40K. so in essence, you paid 1K for detroits....

I was at my local yesterday and I dont think i've seen as many manual GTI's as that before.. all of them 40K driveaway...
perhaps a few of them were brought in and now they're clearing them...

40k is a very good price if it is a 5 door! I had done a deal for $41k 5 door with detroits 6 months ago..but the car was further delayed so I opted to get the Golf R.. which set me back 52k .. best choice I made though I think..

Man 5 door - havent been convinced by DSG... although, i do have the 'what would it be like after getting use to it' thoughts in the back of my mind.

Changed to white with reversing camera and tint - same price. Supposed to be picking up in an hr!

Tornado red
5dr DSG
18" Detroits
Vienna Leather
Bluetooth and MDI (standard I know)
Rubber mats (including boot)

Am in Perth so it is hard work here. I had dealers not budging from $47,200 until recently. Started at $48,350 as a "best price".

Sounds pretty good to me! Lennocks in Canberra could only do $44800 for me during a 'driveaway sale' about a month ago. Only included option was Park Assist....

That looks like a good deal from where I'm sitting. With on-roads that would be an rrp of well over 50k and a discount > 10%.

I think I might move back to VW.

Initially had a 118TSI then moved to a XR5.

So now I am thinking of a 3dr GTI. Had a look on carsales and didnt see any. Hopefully there are still some in stock as I cant wait longer than a few weeks for a new car once I move the XR5.

The main thing I am after is a 3dr Manual in White (or that gun metal colour) and 18" detroits. Depending on prices, wouldnt mind reverse camera, maybe leather (but i doubt it would fit in my price), but its not critical. What other items do people recommend.

Anyway, my budget is $40k. Ideally I would just like the 3dr manual + detroits for around $38k. Is this too much to ask for?

At the moment, with the widely advertised 2011 run out, you may be in luck. Generally, 3drs have a smaller market so can be a bit harder to move so dealers tend to discount them heavier (but is by no means less of a car compared to the 5dr - my disclaimer to avoid any abuse hurled my way!) so that is not outside the realms of possibility.

$38k-$39k is possible, as I paid $44k for mine (although it was 2011 build in 2011 - I didn't want a 2010) and I paid $44k. Taking out the 5dr & DSG cost of roughly $4k, and the additional discount for a 'year old', that would land you in that range stated.

Not going to waste your time, i have a brand new white golf gti 3 door manual with 18" alloys in stock. it will be $41,000

Those r sharp prices, I paid a shade under $41k last June for a 3dr man, bt, mdi, and some accessories. 3dr man is where it's at
