  • Right, let's try this again without the chip war. I've left some comments about the chips involved which contain information without being totally antagonistic.

Nicely spec'd there mate and welcome. Hopefully the behaviour of some of our members hasn't put you off the forum.
    Enjoy your car.

    Cheers,

        • hey guys thanks for the comments, SilvrFoxx i payed just under $59000. I didnt really have to wait long, i only made up my mind to buy a new car one week before i purchased it. I was lucky that someone had ordered this car and pulled out at the last minute.

I purchased the car from denlo at parramatta. Their service was excellent I would highly recommend them to anyone buying a new volkswagen. Even with the Gti shortage they still gave me a decent discount.

I will take some photos on the weekend after i wash it and post them. Having the car in the workshop all day gets it dirty pretty quickly.

Quick question to all the gurus. whats the deal with tyre pressure monitors, do these cars have them as a standard option. I dont seem to have the button above my gearshift knob

Beautiful! I just drove this car flat chat around Calder and it really needs a revo whatever - NOT!

Sorry, I don't recommend it. But, it's your ride. Congratulations! I just hope you give it some thought before you make any rash decision to modify it in any way. Really, it's outstanding as it is.

It's in the globe box. Top right corner. It's pretty hard to see because it's obscured from vision from anyone who is tall... lean down there and look up, and you'll see it

Sounds like a pretty good deal for that kit. Pity about the luxury car tax just kicking in, eh? I was impatient and I was afraid of missing out if I played hard ball. Did you get a sunroof and the MDI? I think they are the only other options (apart from the as-yet unavailable bi-xenons) available - and you didn't list them.

It's pretty well optioned up!! Didn't know bi-xenons weren't available yet..

I think he'd only have to pay luxury car tax on the amount over 57k or whatever it is so no big deal (maybe $200?).

                      • Yep, got the sunroof and mdi. Murfeytheelf im pretty sure luxury take wasnt that much maybe only 150-300 dollars. Not that I like paying it but not a great deal when you consider the price of the car.

PS i bought it under my business name so maybe the taxing is different

Nope. LCT applies regardless when you hit $57,180 (before rego, stamp duty etc.). You'll get your 50% deduction come tax time in July next year. On top of that, you've pretty much reached the limit with how far the investment allowance goes (up to LCT threshold). So you should be able to claim the maximum deduction of $28,590 plus normal deductions as well. Enjoy your GTI.

                            • just an update. loaded the revo software today, the car feels awsome. It seems to handle the power much better than a Mark V, hardly any wheel spin. I should try setting the suspension on sport to see how it really handles.

I also installed the factory bluetooth kit. works perfectly and the best part is you cant see it

                              • Nice update, sounds like there are a few suspension and handling improvements with the mk6.

What exactly is the dealer Bluetooth these days? I've got the skoda oem kit and believe it's the best one out there.
