gday just noticed this forum when researching Golfs. looks a great site with a stack of info.

I say theres no substitute for a bit of hard work!

Call every dealership in Australia!

Its a numbers game, you will eventually hit your pot of gold! (dealership holding multiple models of R's, GTI's etc ready to slit their wrists!!)

I spent 3 days calling around and the savings are phenomenal!

Hi all,

So i'm currently in the market for a 103TDI, been dealing with a private fleet mob to get some ball park figures. At the moment the best they can find on a stock TDI is $37,300 which apparently is on a boat at the moment. Any thoughts on this price would be good.

Otherwise its a build car which would take till around September to come through. They have given a price of $40,776 with RNS510 & reverse camera which are options I would like.

They all want you in the showroom to sign a contract.
Dealer I went to the other week was pressuring me for a sale before I even got to test drive one.

Golf 90tsi driveaway price?

Hi, I am looking at the Skoda octavia 90tsi which is 25k driveaway at the moment. I like the golf but it is 25k RRP which pushes up over 28k with on roads.

Does anyone have any experience with VW pricing? What would be a good price to walk out the door? Could you get it under 26k?

Went to Barloworld Mascot to check out the Golf R's

I was told that they can no longer take orders on 3 doors.

I haven't checked with other dealers, perhaps we can get more confirmation from other forum members?

Yes, that is correct. They have stopped taking orders for the 3 door model to make way for the Scirocco...

There are dealers who have taken orders for the Golf R in red. So maybe if you find a nice enough dealer they might be able to still put through a 3 door R order for you.

I guess the strategy is to sit down with them, lay out exactly what you want (and KNOW what you want, don't be asking them questions as though you're still just researching), and let it be very clear that you want a 3 door Golf R and ONLY a 3 door Golf R, and if you can't get that, then you'll go and buy a BMW or something.

This is how we got them to bring the 3 door GOlf R in the first place, because originally they told us they weren't and we complained in exactly the manner I just mentioned

I just got back from having a look at our Local VW Dealer and he told me that they have had a 3 door R on order for a number of weeks and the factory just advised it has been cancelled.... Seems the Dealers might not have much say...

I saw a black 3dr R in a dealership in Brisbane on Tuesday - not sure if it is already sold or not but it was a new arrival (in the last week or so...)

The current nationwide deal on all Golfs (R and GTD excluded) is free on road costs.
