Just a quick suggestion Chylld, is it worth putting a purchase date on the spreadsheet as well? That way it would be easy to see a trend in pricing over time to give a nice guide of what a certain model should be worth now.

No problem if you don't have the time, the sheet is great.

I would have done that, but a lot of the posts are made quite a bit after the actual purchase date, so the dates wouldn't have been accurate. People have already been generous enough to share their deals and I couldn't ask for more than that!

Suffice to say, the longer a model has been out the more flexibility the dealers should have.

Let us know how it goes for you!

seems we've been getting some outside interest in the spreadsheet!

looking at these two cars at the moment. the deals I am looking at put them in about the same price/performance/practicality and I am wondering if any of the guys here that work in the dealerships know of anything bad about either? I get the idea that the subaru will cost more to service, but the mazda has shorter service

Haha definitely I can't imagine the option pricing to be too different from the normal golf options...

Just someone give me a poke when official pricing info becomes available... My interest in golfs has waned considerably since I already bought a new car

Great spreadsheet! I was around the 11 / 12%, so I am happy I got a good price!

It would be great to have this topic on the front page?

                  GTi 6

                  Hey guys,

Has anyone had much luck with the Golf 6 GTi discounts, i tried a few weeks ago to see what dealers would be flexible on and by how much but they were all sted fast 'take it or leave it' type thing.

Everyone was charging massive Delivery fee's, i think some Melb dealers were around an insane $3,995. I can't afford it at this becuase it's $3,000 of clear profit over and above neg and it's enough to price me out at the mo.

Can we get some figures added to the (almost) world famous spreadsheet

Hey yeah I managed a $5200ish discount (around 10%) off my red 5 dr GTI they gave me the Corp discount and waived the dealer delivery so there are discounts to be had. Good luck

I wonder why it cost 1k more to deliver a GTI than a normal Golf =S

Nath, thats really good going!! I have made a few posts saying that we shouldn't actively trying to get every last drop out of a new car sale so even asking the question seems fairly hypocritical but i also do not condone being taken advantage of.

drive a Skoda at the mo but the GTi interior has come along way, mark 5 was a bit tacky.

I'll go on the hunt Nath, worst case scenario i will end up in an RS Octavia which in itself is not so bad as they are a really good GTi alternative. It would be good though to see this on the spreadsheet and to see whether yours is a one off or whether it can be reality for more of us.

                        Thanks for the info

I've added my purchase to the sheet, wasn't sure how to load it directly to the site so I used the file sharing site Chylld used originally.

                          http://www.4shared.com/file/15197667...lf_mk6_1_.html

                          Hope you don't mind Chylld.

I also added the Golf GTI in a 3 and 5 door column and changed the DD charges as mine were $2995.

                          Skoda, hopefully this will help.

New buyers may not be aware of this very useful spreadsheet. Are buyers still entering their deals?

Not at all! I don't have much time to update the spreadsheet these days so any help is appreciated. Thank you for helping continue what I started, I've updated the original post to link to your file

I think we have quite a lot of deals in there already, my guess is the best deals have already come out and as people have trouble beating them, they don't feel the urge to share their info with the world (totally understandable.)

Just these few posts to bump the thread will help plenty!

                                Hello

Thanks for all the great info in this thread and sharing your deals with everyone, I am having a hard time working out the spreadsheet and if the prices are 'drive away'.

Can someone who understands it better help me work out a RRP and ballpark figure for drive away on the following:

                                118TSI
                                Metallic paint
                                DSG
                                Sports pack (leather)
                                Sat Nav
                                Parking sensors

I am in Sydney, I really appreciate any help.
