Yeah, the conditions are that it must be ordered and delivered within the sale period. This doesn't mean you can't just revert to "regular negotiations" though
Also wondering how long after release of the GTI people were able to get corp discount?
I ordered my GTI the day they were officially released (October 31 I think it was), and got the corp discount. I'd done my homework in advance and got offered corporate discount pricing from several NSW dealers before I drove the car and did the deal locally here in SA.
The suggestion at the moment appears to be that the R won't be discounted so generously (if at all), at least in the short term. Not surprising given its keen pricing and (evidently) high demand.
Obviously this was my first visit so i havent shopped my prices around yet. What you guys think?
Also the corp plus discount he was telling me was $2500 for the Golf R and $2200 for the GTI. Dealer delivery cut from $2795 to $1395 (i thought was suppose to be $995?)

Reason: forgot acc
I'll assume it's a 5 door, that your post code is 3000 (and therefore rego $624.10), and you're going to fit the standard $30 plates. I figure the RRP drive away to be $56,399.11 - so you've got about a 8.69% discount.
Well, you can't really compare any of the figures in this thread if you've also got a trade in - because they then have to factor the cost of that into the price they're giving you...
do you mean as in change over price?....sorry coreying im trying to calculate the difference....
they are giving me $21000 for trade and $51500 for the golf,...so thats a change over of $30500 correct....
so all in all im getting a good deal as my payout is $14000....
again sorry if im not making sense and thanks for your help..
I think what coreying means is that it's hard to work out what the actual total discount is if, for example, the dealer has added $2000 to the trade in price of your vehicle, rather than further reducing the price of the car. In such cases, only the dealer really knows what your actual discount is.
