How to track the car you have ordered?

I ordered my GTI late March and was expecting delivery around September. I received an email from the dealer last month claiming expected delivery late July! I enquired about its progress today (expecting it to have reverted back to September...) and was given my VIN number and vessel!

It's on the TOSCANA and left Europe last month, due to arrive in Melbourne on 26th June!!! Allowing 3-4 weeks before delivery means they were pretty much spot on.

Looks like I'll miss out on the current APR sale though...

Not exactly sure what it is but I get the impression it is something to do with allocating cars to dealers in a manner which does not give the larger dealers, like Barloworld, an unfair advantage or smaller dealers when it comes to getting cars. I am wondering if policy, assuming it is real and not just dealer BS, results in different waiting times depending upon which dealer you purchase from.

Speak to Caterina from Glen Waverly Barlowrold mate, she is the sales/delivery representative there. I've had a similar experience as victim, such that I only found out that my GTI was a couple months ahead of schedule once I called up to check up on progress 2 months after placing the order.

My car on the exact same boat. Port Kembla 29th June. R Tails and a few other accessories need to be fitted at dealership. Probably looking at 3rd week July pick-up.

Yes, come on the Aida!!! Though you never know how long it will take once it arrives on the dock. Fingers crossed for a speedy delivery. I'm super excited, not sure how long I can bear waiting! Haha

I have recently received a screen shot of NADCON from my dealer. Under equipment, it says "Navigation DVD, Australia - 7RJ". Does it mean Sat Nav? I did not order Sat Nav, so want to check what does "Navigation DVD, Australia - 7RJ" mean?

Also, in NADCON under status, it says "ModPending" - what does that mean?

Yes, 7RJ is the Navigation DVD for the RNS510, but it's only part of the order... There is also another code, specifically "RNS 510" R2Z

If you don't have the 2nd code, then maybe your dealer is just short a few navigation DVDs and is ordering them...

As for the status, "ModPending" may mean that it isn't yet submitted for build. Do you have the "ETA Data" screen? Which entry is the "dot" next to?

Yes, I have “RNS 510 – R2Z” code as well. So Nav DVD is just a DVD and not Sat Nav?

Also, I ordered ONLY Rear View Camera, but the NADCON says – Parallel Parking assistant “Park Assist” inc. park distance control & rear view camera “Rear Assist – WDC”.
What does that mean? Does it mean I will get the whole thing – i.e. park assist with distance control and rvc?
Under Equipment it also says – “Connectivity II - “. Doe sit mean Bluetooth and MDI? I did not order MDI & BT as it is standard on MY2012 GTIs.
I do not have ETA screen. I will have to ask the dealer for that I guess!
