How to track the car you have ordered?

Good to see someone else watching the Tristan - my R is on board also. Think it's due in Sydney on the 10th though. Let's hope it's not hit with this cyclone out there in the pacific! This is my first post - Lon term watcher while I've been going through the waiting pains. Soon to be one of 4? Golf Rs in Canberra!

I've also got one on board the Tristan!

Unfortunately my car will stay on the boat in Melb and head up to Syd where I will pick it up. It's first drive will be Sydney to Melbourne!

Fyi been told that Sydney cars delivered on the Aida will be released from VWA by 20 Jan

Strange, the arrival of Don Quijote is not listed on the Port of Melbourne site. Hope it hasn't sunk!

I have just checked the Port Melbourne ship movements and The Don is due in today at 19:30 Appleton Dock D.

Well for all those who have cars onboard the Don Quijote, she just went through the rip not long ago. Goes through quick too. Blink and you will miss her! Here are some cam grabs I got.

So does anyoner know how to track the vehicle once it has left the ship or is sitting at port? I live in Cairns and I know the ship docked in Brissy back on the 21st. Just curious to know where it is now...Perhaps a transport company that VW use to move vehicles around the country

Call your dealer. That's the only way you can track it once it's landed...

The don is due to leave Melbourne today at 16:00 and arrive at Port Kembla at 5am on 02/01/11. You might be lucky and get yours before the 17th Jan .

Maybe I missed it in searching but...who and how is a compliance done on a new dub? Does the individual dealer do it or is it farmed out to another business to do it? I'm asking because the Topeka docked in Brisbane on the 21st and I'm really not expecting to see the car until mid January with the holidays. Is the dealer here in Cairns do the compliancing then that may speed it up. I see most people recieved their vehicles within 2 weeks of the ship docking???

They do things like add the child seat anchors etc.

Yeah going to contact my dealer today and see if he knows when I can pick it up. Man this last week or so wait is a killer even worse than when the R was on the boat! It's seriously doing my head in! Can only imagine how little sleep I am going to get the night before pickup!!

I just feel lost now as I'm not able to track the car! Hopefully my dealer will update me sometime this week. Seriously can't wait!

Yeah we just need that green light from the dealer now! Hopefully will get some info from them today on when the R is ready for pickup! Cmon!!
