Just tracked my car via the VIN using the link posted https:/att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/ and found that my car arrived at Fremantle port on the 19th Dec... very excited, thanks for posting the link guys.

Anyone have any idea on how long it takes for a car to get from delivery port to the dealership?

it took us 4 weeks to get the car...admittedly the dealership were ready in just over 3 weeks, but I was out of town when they rang.

Great news mate, which dealer did you buy it from?

My dealer was fantastic and it only took 9 days from port to delivery..

Prodigy, I bought from VW in Osborne Park, really good guys, I did shop around and try to get the best price and in the end they gave me the best deal with the smallest wait time.

DAL344, yeah you're right it is 2011 compliance so it will be Jan before I get it for sure, and no mate it's not an R in RB with 19's, though that does sound very very nice, nothing to worry about mate, it's a GTI in Carbon with 18's

Cory_R, yeah mate you are absolutely right it will be held until Jan as it is 2011 compliance, I just got excited when I saw it has already arrived at port, and started thinking more like early Jan rather than mid Jan might be possible.

Hi mate, my car's on the same cargo ship as yours! Aida? My dealer said VWA are holding back all cars for 2011 compliance...so expect delivery of yours to be around mid Jan. Aida docks in Port Melb tomorrow / today the 22nd!

I've been reading these forums for months but this is my first post. It's a relief to see that others are just as obsessed with their new Golf order as I am (I've been doing my wife's head in). Has been a long wait but thanks to all for the entertaining and informative reading - has kept me somewhat sane!

So according to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen tracking site, my pride and joy arrives in Melbourne on the Aida today! Have just checked the Melbourne Ports shipping movement website and it looks like its coming in at 12.30 tonight (so tomorrow technically). Shame its so late as I am keen to keep on eye on the webcams.

From reading this forum I can see that average time from dock to buyer is 2 weeks but do you think that because of Xmas this is likely to be longer??

Hey Ari. Welcome to the forums.
On the internet you cannot link to files which are on your computer. You have to "host" them somewhere. In the case of photos, you can register at a site such as Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and then upload photos to there. You then just copy the "[IMG]" links which PhotoBucket provides to your forum posts and they will display correctly. Cheers

Loving that there's some other people as obsessed with tracking the seemingly slow arrival of my GTI. She's on Aida, and am planning to do a drive by later to at least have a quick look at the cargo ship i have been monitoring very closely for the past 45 or so days!!!!

Very keen to get updates from all others whose cars are on Aida, and when they actually have their car delivered. For what it's worth I hope I get mine asap, but also that it is first registered in 2011 (if that makes any difference to future resale).

Yep been tracking the Don Quijote feverishly ever since it left Germany lol! Looks like shes caught up a bit on the Aida due to Aida's delays and will be into Melbourne 31/12/2010. Hopefully after that its a couple of weeks at most till shes in my hands and then to kick things off it will be a fang for the R down the Great Ocean Rd I think with a pitstop at Lorne on hopefully a nice sunny day!
