U watched the circuit work as well and it was probably that seeing as the ship arrived close to port early that they were perhaps put in a holding pattern to wait for docking at their scheduled time.
I wonder if we'll see it track all the way along the south coast to Melbourne ?
The path she took into port was also interesting....
Yes... there's a figure 8!
What the?
Holding pattern like a plane? lol
Edit: I just noticed Fergus beat me to that comment by a minute lol, but yeah that was the first thing that looked logical. Man you lads must be going bananas now the ship is in port!!
The show that featured the faust, showed a fortnightly emergency test
which involved a "J-Turn" as an emergency stop procedure.
The path starts off like that, however the next turn to get it back on track is a little odd too, like they overshot the correction?
Perhaps the captain was practising for a drift event?

Oh, you're in WA! Dermot might hold it back because in WA they go off compliance for a car's value come resale time! Didn't notice you ere in WA until you mentiond Dermot.

Nah. The public only sees tracking via the VHF portion of the AIS system. So as soon as it leaves Perth it'll be off the radar again. It'll probably next appear as it passes south of Mt Gambier in VIC.
I thought they may decide on holding back for their 'figures' ...
Compliance 'shouldn't' be an issue if it docks on schedule - 4th December.
It will probably be a bit over two weeks before I see my car since it landed in freo, being that close to christmas I reckon it will be in January unless miracles do happen
Is anyone in Perth intending (or able to) get down to the port tomorrow (thurs 11th) at around 1100 - 1130 and get any photos of the Morning Camilla ? Docks at 1130 and departs around 7pm bound for Melbourne
Sorry fergus, I only just got home been a hell of a day and I didn't get to Freo, have to make do with Corey's webcam shots, maybe someone from Vic can grab some happy snappies

Been going to the beach for years at Cottesloe and never have a seen a ship do a figure 8! they all tend to line up along Gage Roads and anchor there if their berth is taken, maybe the Morning Camilla had to perform an emergency J turn due to some amateur boaty in his path!!!
