          • Faust is now due in Melbourne at 13:00. Does anyone know how to capture images from a webcam that updates every 6 seconds but doesn't auto refresh the screen? Could use this Web Camera 2 - Point Lonsdale Lighthouse to capture an image of it going into Port Phillip. Once docked it will be in the area between cam 3 and cam 4 from the shipping management centre.

The webcam is simply h t t p://www.portofmelbourne.com/webmedia/loncam2.jpg on the web server, so you just need to save that every ~6 seconds as a sequential image. There are many programs or scripts which would do that for you.

I just got my Chassis Number and it appears my car, Golf GTD, is also on that boat. I am under the impression that its ETA for Melbourne is the 16th of November. Can anyone clarify this?

                  • Called me silly....but for the last 4 hours, but I've been watching FAUST unload here in Melbourne. Fascinating! She finally docked at 3pm (2 hours late). There's 1,400 cars being off loaded here with around 800 VW's, and my Golf R must be the last...I stood watching: BMW's, Porche's, Audi's, tractors, massive tip trucks and what seemed to me about 200 Polo's and then I ran out of time. Faust departs Melb tomorrow morn at 8am for Port Kembla. According to the freindly supervisor lady from 'POAGS' (we talked thru the fence) who was counting - ALL cars will be made compliant, checked for dings and issued with books on site. They will all leave the unloading area within max. 48hours to go to the dealerships (not a holding yard, as I assumed)....Interesting to see when we all get ours??? I've got great pics, but dont know how to upload! We can all sleep easy, FAUST is here... PS: I'm going back at circa 11am tomorrow morn to hopefully get a pic of my car! Surely she's easy to pick out of 1,400??? Anyone care to join me?

I can't work out whether you are overly patient or impatient! To stand there for hours for a chance to see a glimpse of your car is truly awesome. To not get that chance and then decide to go back the next day should be made into a VW advertisement. As it is, my RB manual R is right there with yours but unfortunately I can't make it down there tomorrow! Thanks so much for the great news on the 48 hour turnaround but if that's true (and of course I have no reason to doubt it) I wonder what happens to them for the balance of the "2-3 weeks" we all keep getting told we have to wait? I don't really mind as what's a few more days after 5 months and I still have my GTI to belt around in but just curious. And my dealer at Camberwell has been great to deal with again so I am sure I will have it as soon as they can make it possible. But 48 hours to the dealer... wow...

                        • My wife reckons I'm nuts, she say's that it's only a car!!!! So why stalk it? my Answer: Because I can.

I'm also very sceptical on the 48 hour story....whilst she was a lovely lady who seemed on the ball, everyone quotes their dealership who says its 2-3weeks.... Anyway hopefully we can all post when our cars arrive, so we can get accurate data to share!

                          • Yeah - 48 hours to comply 1400 vehicles sounds insane... it can't be that quick!

Well... now that it's looking that the Morning Camilla won't depart Fremantle until the 12th, I checked the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics voyage page for the Morning Camilla and found that they've finally pushed back the departure dates for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. So she's still arriving on the same day (presumably later on that day), but leaving the following day (presumably early that day).
