Looking at the coastal regions on the map that have tracking zones around them, given the expected date of arrival, we should shortly see it pop up into the "CapeTown" region. It's been out of range for over 7 days now as there is a large expanse down the west coast of Africa that are out of range of where the ship would have been. My money's on seeing it pop up somewhere in the next 24 hours.

    • Out of curiosity, whats the average time to recieve vehicle, once it lands in aus (your corresponding port)?
Have any of you had past experiences?

By the time it arrives, clears customs and then has Patricks do the arrival pre-delivery at the arrival port (eg Fit Aust compliance plates and other associated arrival checks), then get sent to the dealer and then properly Pre-Deivered by the dealer, most of us are expecting 2-3 weeks I think. Then if your car arrives into another port other than where you live, you have to allow for truck/train transport to your state. (eg I live in Adelaide but because the ship doesn't stop here, my car will get offloaded in Melb and then sent back to Adelaide). I work for another automotive brand, so know a bit about the process.

            • FAUST CO027-FAT BREMERHAVEN 29-09-2010 FREMANTLE 01-11-2010

ETA for the FAUST is back down to 1-11-2010, I love this boat

for Corey_R.... information was taken from the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics website at ~6.20am this morning on the 27th day of October 2010, this is the only place that I was aware of that provided accurate information

              • Guys, I think that we need to start being a little clearer about where you are getting these ETA's from.

There are 3 places that you can get them from (that I know of, feel free to add more info if you have other sources)
                1) Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics/ site. Click on the "Voyage Number" link to see the official Voyage Details and Schedule.
                2) Marine Traffic AIS Tracking where you can search for your Vessel and see the AIS tracking information.
                3) The "Expected Arrivals" manifests for the shipping port for which the vessel is next headed to. This may be via the Marine Traffic site, or it may be via the actual Port's own website.

The thing to note about Marine Traffic's information is that it is based on information being sent from the vessel, NOT from the shipping company. For example, the Morning Camilla was last in range 7 days 15 hours ago. At the time it was travelling at 17.4 knots, only 0.4 knots slower than its maximum speed, and it said that it's ETA in East London, South Africa, was the 26th at 18:00. This figure changes based on its speed, and the speed is affected by water currents, wind, weather, traffic etc. If the weather is bad, it can add hundreds of nautical miles to the voyage, or cause the ship to stop altogether.

Meanwhile, the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics site still says that the Morning Camilla is due in East London on the 30th, as it has since the vessel left Bremerhaven. Now since W&W need to actually book a time at the Port, the vessel can't just show up whenever it feels like it.

So which one is correct? There are 4 days difference here?

The most recent "Detailed Shipping Movements" page from the website of the Port of East London, says that they're expecting it in on the 29th.

So there you go. We've now got 3 different dates.

To summarise, so you don't go upsetting people by telling them they're going to get their car 1 week earlier than it will actually arrive (and trust me... I've had to delete rubbish posts and threads over the past few days on that very topic!), please state where you are getting the ETA data from, and please understate the "conditions" around the ETA data from the various sources.

                Cheers.

Hey, that link is really good. It generates a PDF document with all the Oceania Inbound from Europe Schedules from W&W. So that has the Faust, Torrens, Morning Camilla, and Fedora on it too

Congrats mate I've been away the last couple of weeks so only read this today, given the ETA at Freo you should have your R by the 2nd week in Dec!

The Torrens is only hours away from Port Elizabeth! then Durban and Freo on the 8/11

                        • Woohoo! Just contacted my dealer and my R is locked in for a build in week 44 Day 1 so just around the corner! He emailed me screenshots from NADCON. Looks like touch and go for Xmas or more likely January delivery. Even more excited now!

                          • Congrats on the build day... but realistically you have _no chance_ of getting it before Christmas. It's 5 to 6 weeks on the ship, depending on route. It's 2 to 3 weeks from the ship to being delivered to you. That's 7 to 8 weeks.

You also have to account for the actual time it days to build the car, and the time it could be sitting at the dock waiting to be placed onto a ship.

There are only 8 weeks left to Christmas as it is.

                            • hey mate, thanks. yeah I was just going on what the dealer told me just the other day but was thinking it was pretty optomistic. They should know the normal timeframes for them (barring any problems) you would think considering they order all the time. The fastest ship of the next few looks like the AIDA at 40 days leaving 8th of Nov. But yeah realistically I'm not counting on Xmas delivery just happy to have a build date and know it will be on a ship very soon hopefully
