Leading up to and signing on the dotted line the salesman was my best friend. After that he didn't want to be my best friend any more. I attempted to make contact a couple of times just for a quick update. Each time I would politely leave a message on his landline, mobile and left messages with their receptionist. The receptionist was actually the best experience with the dealer at this stage. When I would ring up she knew my voice, remembered my name and was not happy my salesman was not getting back to me. She told me it was ridiculous and put me onto the Sales Manager. Sales Manager was fairly p!ssed to hear my experience and asked that if I have any future enquiries to contact him direct. From that time on, my experience with this dealer has been fantastic. Basically the dealership was being let down by one sales guy. I think he is packing shelves at the local supermarket now!!

The same thing happend to me, now the sales rep is gone from the dealership. I think VW need to seriously have a look at their dealerships and training.
AiDA was sailing out of Melbourne, wondering if the cars were unloaded Friday night or if she's coming back.

Nah she won't be coming back. Ours cars will have been unloaded. Aida only spends a day in each port then moves on to the next.

The dealership redeemed themselves and all is sweet so apart from a little bump in the road my experience has been good. It only takes one person to wreck the reputation of a group. It's how it is resolved that counts of which it was so I'm happy.

I have today obtained a screenshot of my order on a golf R from dealership.

It seems that my R is on Glorious Leader heading to Frementle right now. ETA at port Kembla is on 19th, July, 2011.
And the delivery date to me would be in 2-3 weeks after that.

My sales person never got me any useful updates so far and I didn't even know that my car was already built in week 20
and left for port kembla until this afternoon when I called to see if there are any updates.
When I called today, he wasn't available and I was put through to the sales manager and he got me all the details.

Anyone having difficulties in getting updates on their cars should contact the sales manager instead.

I had no expectations that the dealer was going to contact me on updates without me asking. I did have an expectation that they would contact me when convenient if I contacted them. I guess in your case at least you car is already built and on it's way. So it's closer than you thought it was. Glorious Leader soon to hit Fremantle.

Is anyones elses Golf on Carmen? Its expected to dock into Brisbane in ten days time. It passed through the suel canal about a week ago but has dropped off the radar since. Would the Carmen be stopping anywhere else on the way to Brisbane?
