The Dealer delivery is the included in the ORC which is $4000 . I think it was $2980.

The full Drive away price comes to $49100. i got him down to 45k. I was hoping he would go down a couple of grand more....

Id keep pushing, or even go to another dealer..Thats a jacked up dealer delivery!

I think you've done absolutely brilliantly. That's like a 15% reduction which puts you at one of the top handful of discounts recorded here. Congrats on your purchase, End of Jan will be here in NO time! Great time of year and all, so much happening with Christmas and holidays etc

Yes I was pretty pleased... 15% off, and (what I think) is a pretty good price for my trade in.
Initially it was suggested that I had high expectations, and it was hinted that I wouldn't be able to reduce or remove on road costs.
In the end I got better than that.

Now I just have to bide my time and wait till Jan......
Sad to lose my buggy, but exciting at the same time......

Happy New Year to all of you out there!!

Just layed down a deposit today for my first VW.

118TSI DSG w Sportspac and delivery time of just 3 weeks.

Probably should have shopped around a bit more than I did. Will be interested to see what others think of the deal I got.
Have 24 hrs to "cool down" where I can back out if I think I can get a better deal elsewhere.

Hey Blakey, Welcome and Congrats.

As far as the 'deal' you got, well according to the spreadsheet a 118TSI with Metallic paint, DSG, BT, Rear Sensors should be $39,935 on the road in NSW. Depending if you got SP (Cloth) $2K or SP(Leather) $5K in there as well you are looking at a discount of 8.3% (cloth) or 14.6% (Leather) so given the average is around 10.9% (which includes those that get Corp discount) you havent done too badly with the cloth, and if you have leather then you got the deal of the year!!

The Mats should be free as should a detail and free tank of fuel.

Anyway you'll love the car, everyone does

Ordering a TSI

I'm in the process of ordering my wife a mk6 TSI in white.

The specs decided on so far are:

DSG
16" rims (she is a ride comfort kinda gal) - the standard rims are ok, but does anyone have pics of the other factory 16" alloys (eg. Tangis) fitted to a car?
Tan leather
Sunroof
Fog Lights
RCD510 with reversing camera (does anyone know if the RCD510 has a hard drive for storing media like the RNS510 does?)

Specs to be decided:

Factory sports body kit - can anyone tell me the NSW price for this option?
Window tinting - usual cost anyone?
Media Device Interface - how useful is that? Worth $400?
Exhaust tips - are there factory ones or nice aftermarket ones?
Wood grain inserts to replace the factory inserts - anyone know any nice aftermarket options for this?

Wouldn't bother with foglights as they are going to made illegal soon and are to be replaced with LED DRL's.

Window tinting can be had for a lot cheaper elsewhere.
Either get the Dealer to price match the cheapest aftermarket you can find or go elsewhere.

MDI is cheap as chips, not worth the $400 the dealer is after.

Wouldn't bother with exhaust tips.

Interior trim can be found oon aftermarket sites and ebay and woodgrain will not suit the golf imho.

You can probably get the MDI and tint thrown in for free ($100) if you bargain well enough.

ebay is also good as you can get parts from europe/USA a lot cheaper than here.


Aftermarket tint the best is tint-a-car from memory.
But independant tinter's can also be good, depends where you are located.

Hi all, just wanted to contribute one more data point for the spreadsheet.

Just got delivery last weekend for the spouse, of a black 118TSI, DSG, Metallic, MDI, Rear Sensors for $32,250 drive away. Note we have fleet/corporate discount.
