I used McGrath in Sutherland, pretty good service/knowledge etc. Didn't realise the previous quote included Dynaudio, as for leather and ACC not sure why you'd want it in the 118 but its your car, and the leather is nice but I'm a fan of the cloth in the GTI.

I'm sure you'll love the 118 though everyone does

What did Mazda offer?

Haven't been to Mazda yet, ran out of time. Might go tomorrow, they have a big sale.....
but if I can get the golf for 31500 with sports pack in candy white minus my trade in at $14000 (plus mats, petrol and premium plates or MDI... I'll take it?)

I wouldn't punish yourself by getting a Mazda when we're talking about $300 here. As the dealer to do that, but if they still won't, then I'd just pay the additional $300

I don't believe the Mazda 3 is in the same quality and style league as the Golf. Especially in the interior.

Just paid my deposit.... (sweat gathering on brow - but also a bit of relief!)

I think you've done absolutely brilliantly. That's like a 15% reduction which puts you at one of the top handful of discounts recorded here. Congrats on your purchase, End of Jan will be here in NO time! Great time of year and all, so much happening with Christmas and holidays etc

Now that I've bitten the bullet (after much procrastination), it feels a lot better!
The salesman seemed desperate to strike a deal and willing to please.

Anyone else looking to buy? See Xen (pronounced Zen) @ Barloworld Glen Waverley and tell them Nikki sent you - he has 3 teenage daughters that look expensive to run.... he could probably do with a few more sales lol!

Using the MK6 GTI Calculator spreadsheet.

The config you list, but with a $800 provision for bluetooth, and without the 3 year warranty, would equate to ~$62894 otr in NSW. To get it for $56k otr you'd need a $6894 discount, or roughly an 11% discount.

Mind you, if you check out mattyf83's post over in the Golf GTI Mark VI Specifications and Prices thread - he said he's been able to get his spec'd car for $49725 otr when it's RRP should be ~$55909 otr in NSW. So his saving was ~$6184 which is just over 11%!

There is hope yet!

The Dealer delivery is the included in the ORC which is $4000 . I think it was $2980.

The full Drive away price comes to $49100. i got him down to 45k. I was hoping he would go down a couple of grand more....
