Forum only readable to users

The server is being hammered again by crawlers, we are seeing tens of thousands of "users" online. Rather than give up and take the whole thing offline, I've switched it over so users must be logged in to even read the forum. I've also removed the ads completely once you're logged in since they are now basically worthless and annoying.

It's not ideal, but it keeps things online for now until I work out a better approach.

  • ABS/ESP fault lights

Hi all, 90TSI manual. Driving around Brisbane in the rain today. Just driving along and the ABS/ESP fault lights come on.
No big puddles, pot holes etc, on the motorway when they come on.
What are the chances that water has got into a connector somewhere? If it dries out, will the fault lights go off.
Any obvious places I should start looking before finding someone to scan it?

Possibly a faulty/damaged wheel speed sensor (also known as an ABS sensor) - very common on the Mk5 and Mk6 and causes the errors you have got.

Assuming this is the issue, its a cheap fix and easy to replace.

You will need to use a scan tool to find out which wheel has the issue, because they have different part number (and shape) wheel speed sensors depending on front axle/rear axle and left side/right side.
