Took my Mark 6 90TSI Golf to the dealership yesterday. Since my last service in September I have had a minor oil leak. They confirmed that it was from the sump plug, and fitted a new plug with some sealer on the thread. No charge and all is good.
They did say that it would need a new sump fitted at the next service and quoted a bit over $1,000 to supply and fit. I've had 26 cars in my lifetime and never needed a new sump. Is there an alternative? The car is in fabulous nick for a 2012 model, 130K on the clock, and runs like a dream. It's a 6 speed manual, and it has the CAXA engine and not the twin charged one. Cheers - John
