Took my Mark 6 90TSI Golf to the dealership yesterday. Since my last service in September I have had a minor oil leak. They confirmed that it was from the sump plug, and fitted a new plug with some sealer on the thread. No charge and all is good.

They did say that it would need a new sump...

Cylinder head- 03L 103 373J (comes with oil press sensor, vacuum pump, glow plugs)...

I parked my car on a grass area. When I got back I drove forward and didn't see the limestone brick. *crunch*

So when I was doing the first oil change after I got the car it turned out the sump was stripped. The bolt has a little resistance but it leaks drops of oil. It was a bit of a time crunch so I just threw it back in and figured I'd deal it with it next time.

Now its next time, any suggestions...

I have replaced the standard sump plug in my MkV GTI (I believe most VAGs use the same sump plug) with a Magnetic sump plug.

Can someone confirm if there are any issues using a copper sump plug crush washer. I think the original looks like steel (washer and bolt is disposed each time)....

Does anyone know where the oil temp sensor is on our Mk6 is? (GTi specifically but I'd assume they'd be all in the same spot)

I assume the probe would be in the sump itself, but you know what assume me. Makes an ASS out of U and ME
