I parked my car on a grass area. When I got back I drove forward and didn't see the limestone brick. *crunch*
I got out to have a look (it was dark) but no issue I could see.
Kept driving and after about 5 minutes 'oil sensor warning'
Got by daughter from childcare and went home.
Looked under the car, with a torch, and this was hanging there

It plugged into this part

I plugged it back in and the issue was gone. Got VW assist to confirm, they made sure it was secure.
The mechanic said Tiguans have plastic oil sumps and a few centimetre more and I would have damaged it. The cable was just a few centimetres below the sump so the brick knocked it.
Keep this in mind when off-roading, the sump is a weak spot.
