Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi all,
Just wondering, after a self-inflicted trailer injury, I have to replace the RF guard on my Golf MkV Pacific and unsure if a MkV GTI panel is interchangeable. Anyone know off the top?MY09 Golf Candy White 2.0 TDI Pacific

Got around to fitting some coilovers I bought on the 10/09/2014 off antihero300.
Also fitted some r32 brakes.
Worst thing is I did the left side first and when I moved to the right side found the outer cv boot had just let go.
So that will be next.
So,
2 years and 9 months after fitting the Bilstein B14s to the TDI the strut top snapped off.
So from now on today is VAGMAS Day for me.
Nice and quite at work replacing the B14s for some nice barely used B8s that thank f@#k I didn't sell.
So have a very VAGMAS DAY everyone!

Merry VAGMAS to you too!
Sounds like you had a VAGMAS like my wife's VAGMAS eve. She spent it stuck on the side of the road for a couple of hours on the way home from work until NRMA rescued her and towed her Mk5 TDI home. She managed to dodge some idiot in a 4WD that was coming down wrong way on the highway on-ramp. However in doing her emergency maneuvering she appears to have blown the turbo - car is blowing white smoke when revving. Will have to wait until 07 Jan 2019 for CVWC to re-open after the holidays to get a proper diagnosis and find out how bad the bill is.1997 Golf CL, 2011 Caddy Life TDI, 2007 Golf TDI, 1996 Vento GL (red), 2008 Skoda Octavia TDI

Yep, she was bloody lucky that her reflexes, skills and experience saved her from a head on collision. Hopefully, she is just damaged an turbo-intercooler hose or something else that is cheap to fix and that we are not up for the cost of a new turbo or replacement motor.1997 Golf CL, 2011 Caddy Life TDI, 2007 Golf TDI, 1996 Vento GL (red), 2008 Skoda Octavia TDI

I had success last week with replacing the valve in the A/C compressor. A fridgy mate de-gassed the system, and I pulled out the old valve and replaced it with a new one from eBay, and we gassed it up. Now, the cool comes on straight away rather than 5-10 minutes delay. Pretty happy with that.Richard
