Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yep, it's the easiest way, you'd need very very small hands with very long fingers otherwise (and that's just to change the high and low beams), I don't know how you'd get at the indicators without removing the headlight assembly.
There's only about 16 torx screws to remove the whole bumper, and it's not hard to do alone.
I've invested in some car stands (one for each side) and a trolley jack to make the job as easy as possible, it'd be REALLY easy if I had a mate who owns a workshop and hoist

As long as you're fine with taking the bumper off every time you have a blow-out then by all means, but it's really quite easy to swap the globes without removing it. I can't imagine how bloody big your hands are, lol.Driver Motorsport Tuned | Melbourne Car Meets | Insta: @VLNTVADERR

I'm by no means a small guy and I have hamhock hands and I can get in there pretty easily. I've removed every one of the bulbs from my headlights (original and new Hella's) without any issues. Even removed the headlights themselves without removing the entire bumper!

Well, you know, big hands, big ... lol.
But seriously I couldn't reach the bulbs, hopefully they last a while

Did oil and filter change and DSG service on my GTI. All went well except,
Oil filter housing. Who carries a 36mm socket in their toolbox anyway? Well I don't. Called up the old man to ask (very nicely) if he could drop one off. 1hr later, filter off. WooHoo. Why does he have all the tools but doesn't work on cars and trucks anymore??? Hand those tools down Dad, you dont need them anymore!
DSG filler tool from mobilfaction.com only screws on the 1L DSG fluid bottles. I bought the 5L bottle so had to find a clean bottle that would fit and pour it into that. Used measure-refill method, 4.6L came out so 4.6L went back in.
Started car, various warning indicators showing. Drove down the street, warning indicators disappeared. DSG felt noticably better.
DONE.
N.B. Hey Santa! If you are reading this, I want a car hoist for xmas. I've been a good boy and haven't had any minor traffic infringments this year.2006 Golf GTI Mk5 Black, stock except 19" RS4 style wheels and lowered on H&R springs.
