This morning I finally got around to having my Golfs front passenger side door lock/mechanism replaced, work performed by our fellow forum member vdubmotorworx (Pete) in Brisbane.
Pete made the job look easy, fast and efficient, he really knows his stuff, I suppose that comes with many years servicing VW's.
its not ?? my gti has done 118000klm , and not to sure if it was ever replaced earlier , just as well i replaced it cos i was reading so much about them on forums ..
Mine decided to breakdown along the Great Western Highway at Woodford on the way back to Sydney.
Lost power and the engine started vibrating badly, and my best friend the "check exhaust" warning light started flashing at me. Diagnosed by the NRMA as a misfire in cylinder 3 caused by a faulty coil pack, so they're all getting replaced. Back up to Springwood tomorrow to pick it up.
I got both front and back badges plastic dipped and back GTI badge removed, also got my lights tinted and a good old detail.
All thanks to TOMM DETAILING in campbelltown
Today I fixed a rattle that had been doing my head in. After taking the dash apart, glove box out and fiddling with the fuel lines under the car, it turned out to be the passenger side wheel well liner. One of the screws had popped out so it was a very easy fix.
Hopefully this saves someone else some time and rattle based headaches.
