Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Little Creatures. We're not that advanced in the West, still like to make things ye olden way.

On a side note, I've also been caught short at a party before (obviously they thought everything came with a screw cap too) and my VW bottle opener has saved the day.

          • Fitted all my xmas shopping (inc a computer) into the boot with a crap load of room to spare. Bliss!

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on another vw bottle opener other than the friendly dealer?

Ebay you can pick them up for as low as $10 delivered if you're patient otherwise around $30. Dealer is around $45. Otherwise parts4euro.com has them from memory. And Dub Addiction (Australian site for around $30 I think)

                • I installed some Osram Nightbreakers (purchased from powerbulbs) and alloy pedals today on my Jetta today.

The original accelerator pedal was an absolute bitch to get out! After much swearing and force, I managed to pry it out. Installing the new pedal was much easier thankfully.

                  • opened the boot today and found a huntsman sitting behind the hydraulic arm.
                    Freaked out!
then 5mins later managed to get it out and started driving.

Forgot my sunnies so put the visor down and there was another one there!!!! nearly crashed the car, luckily the road was empty..
why oh why! and how did they get inside??

easy/safe way of getting them out?
