Well then give me some time & I'll copy it out for you.

Will you believe it then, even if it's word for word, just like the non-believer's about the Pirelli GTI spec's.

But as I've been through this before, people still won't believe it.

As I've said before. I don't know why I bother sometimes.

How do I keep getting sucked into these new car thread's?

    Toy Sized Internal's! hahaha

Good to see you printed some of those 4 pages to 1 - I'd hate to think you'd be causing any damage to the environment!

On the Touran, Scoda Fabia vRS, Mk6 Golf, Jetta, Golf Plus, Golf estate and Scirocco? When did they dump it?
And they no longer intend putting it in the Audi A3 & A1? All news to me.

BTW, VW have the following permutations of TSI now:
          single turbo
          twin turbo
          single s/c + single turbo
          single s/c
...all used across the VAG world (SEAT, VW, Scoda, Audi)

BTW, on another matter mentioned - VW chose an iron block version of an existing alloy block to make sure the 2.5 bar of boost had no effect on reliability.

            OMG!!!!

Is this some sort of bad dream..

            For the last time.

TSI did stand for twin charged IE. Turbo & supercharged!

Not Turbo, twin turbo or Supercharged only,

It mean't both turbo & supercharged.

TSI is a now a trademark, a badge. That's it!

But now it no longer stand's for twin charged ie. turbo & supercharger or any other engine classification other than it's a petrol!

From mk5 Jetta & mk6 if it has a petrol engine, the badge will be TSI.

It doesn't mean anything at all other than it is fitted with a petrol engine!

The more red in the letter eg.

            TSI
            TSI
            TSI

Mean's the more power output it will have

            That's it.

I'll get some paper work to prove it too! Hopefully tomorrow if I get a chance to

I think the point Tsi guy was trying to get tooooooooo was that on a GT (only a GT not GTI etc etc..) TSI means it is twin charged......

I expected your tongue in cheek humour earlier than this

I think the point being made here now and not earlier is that the TSI moniker is staying (and TSI engines will continue to be made) however it will not be used to only describe Twincharged engines. Agreed?

However..... I was also informed by VW staff (who have also received factory training) that TSI always stood for Turbo Stratified Injection, not Turbo Supercharged Injection, that was just what some people started calling it and the name caught on. It makes sense too as the GTI engine has changed design from the older FSI engine as you can see on the USA forums. I'm not sure if we get the 2.0 TSI here yet though, anyone?

                  No need to chief.

I'm leaving for a far while now.

                  Had enough of this crap.

Just don't need the extra stress

                  Good luck to you all.

Sorry to have caused such trouble... I would have thought my initial comment was fairly uncontroversial. Perhaps we are talking at cross purposes. I think you will find from page 21 of the above-linked UK VW Golf VI brochure that the moniker 'TSI' covers both turbocharged and twin-charged, but not merely 'petrol' (see for example pages 9, 10 and 11: the non-TSI PS engines are standard for the S model; the 'TSI' on the SE is the turbo version, not the twin charger, which is available only for the GT).

Is VWA taking a different approach?

Mate it's obvious you want to stick up for your mate, and that's great, he obviously needs some support, but just how exactly is your post in any way keeping with what Mike wrote tonight in his reflection thread, AND in any way going to upset someone who takes absolutely no offence at pixels on a computer screen?
