The current M5 V10 engine also won award's when they were released & I think they've still won a couple since but....

There are a few out there & more worldwide having to be rebuilt because of corrosion problem's.

They are actually eating themselves from the inside out!

    It's not just the V10's either. It's also the 6 pot's too!

That's what happend's when you want to be smart & run Magnesium block's & coolant in the same engine. You can't keep the two separated for ever.

The 1.4 is an iron block so I can't see it wearing out due to boost or heat issues anytime soon.

They are more like a diesel in construction than a petrol. The cylinder wall thickness on photos looks awesome due to being 1.4 in a space that could essentially take 2L.

A turbo is nothing new so I can't see issues there, and simply having a supercharger run off a belt on the other side is pretty simple and used on many cars also. The roots style charger's are very reliable and basically are a life of the car type of item.

I have never seen a turbo on even the most worked car running antilag and high boost last less then about 50,000k's

        I have & even before 20K & I'm talking about current VW turbo's too!

& I'm not talking about just one turbo either.

        Aftermarket turbo's -

I've seen turbo's destroy themselve's before they even get to 100km's!

My friend's TA45 decided to unscrew itself on the first power run. Had it rebuilt & then on the second drag run it done it again!

Not very good considering the nut cost $100 & is shaped like a bullet!

The more red on the badge, the more power.
I think you'll find the TSI on the GT is always a twincharger... at least according to the VW UK Golf VI brochure (the S and SE use the 'turbo' only 122 motor - confusing, I admit).

According to the dealer TSI stands for Turbo Stratified Injection, basically any Turbo engine with direct injection is a TSI. If anyone can show me a non-turbo TSI I'll happily swallow my pride

Would you like me to prove it with the VW training material I recieved when I was at 1.4TSI, Pirelli GTI, Model year update & 7 spd DSG Training?

Would all of you like me to prove everything from now on?

I've been through this before. We don't get the turbo only engine except for the 2.0L TFSI as seen in the GTI, Jetta etc.

TSI is now a trade mark.

It no longer stand's for anything. Just a badge!

I'm talking about the training material that VW Aust. put together themselves from the info they recieve from the homeland training.

Also all the notes, diagram's, hint's & tip's written/drawn down & while the course was going

I make the diesel rattle myself by just loosening my heat shield in the engine bay... or just humming "Daka daka daka daka".

It is true though, the TSI is an iron block just like the diesel. In the whole VW family only the TSI and the diesels are Iron AFAIK.

How many iron blocks do you see turbo's rock?, not many, if any.
"Vroooom daka daka daka ......Just taking the harvester out for a spin, be back later sharon"

I don't... my point was that the TSI badge on a GT means it has the twin charger motor (presumably if it was a TDI badge it would would mean it had the TDI motor?)
