Hmmm might have to agree on that one!!! Maybe all those not happy with their car should go buy a Toyota Camry and get the Cardi on and ask the wife to bring the slippers and the sunday paper!

If there were no issues, why would VW bother with a MKVI?
Mate, reading a bit too much into a simple thread?

What annoys you about your car... insert statement.

Who gets a perfect car anyway? period. Ever heard of popular car magazines and top gear etc... are you gonna call everybody ladies or contribute something relevant?

For some reason this is the first time i've encountered this hot air out of the vents when the climate control is off. It seems like its the strongest on the driver's side.

And yes, this is really really annoying. Where is this hot air coming from? Is there a technical reason for this? Is it a fault with the car that can be fixed?

Picked up a sillly one last night, while driving to the ariport at 2am i thought it would be a great idea to turn off the MFD as the red was cutting my eyes a bit (had just woken up after 2 hours sleep) and lo and behold the only way to do that is when the car is stationary....

surely this is an oversight, there was nowhere i could pull over on the freeway so had to wait til the first set of lights, some 20km down the road at the airport to turn it off. does anyone know if there is a way of doing it while still moving?

There's a brightness control knob for the interior display backlights. Can't you just turn that down a tad to reduce the "redness" of the MFD?

Yeah, that was on the lowest setting, i just thought that in darkness if driving along and u want to change the CD or whatever and go back into display off mode that u wouldnt have to come to a standstill first.

I hate having to turn the key to stop the motor, close the door after getting out and having to walk away from mine! It means the end of fun time!!

Auto volume level on the stereo can't be adjusted, first thing I do whenever I start the car is turn the volume down. Although, hopefully I've missed the page and someone can tell me to RTFM!

The rain sensing wipers are driving me nuts... wipe heaps when there's no rain and doesn't do a thing when it's pouring

Yes it can be adjusted. You can set the starting volume, and the rate at which it increases as vehicle speed increases.

You said it yourself - RTFM.

Yes, RTFM because it's there it's the option below GALA i forgot what it's called... (GALA seems to be the auto-levelling when you drive faster it puts the volume up)

PS: I just wish mine had the full MFD, and what bothers me about it is that there are no roads in Australia where I can make the most of it!!! (without getting a ticket that is).

Perhaps the only thing that REALLY bugs me about it is the fact that there are so many variables within the range - i.e. every year model has little changes, the ones with rear park assist can have the option to auto-tilt mirrors down on reverse, some have memory seats (electric seats), etc etc etc... I just wish it was a more simple range - for example a basic model, intermediate model and a FULL one... sure I could have specc'd it full full but it becomes very expensive to add things individually (see mazda 3 MPS for example, there's 2 variants only) and it becomes a nightmare as you have to wait an eternity for it!!!

Also I wish the R32 had a newer engine for it to be worthy of the extra 10k pricetag in my opinion - I wish the GTI had AWD but I don't like the fact the V6 engine is basically an old block without FSI etc etc etc
                              -
                              Felipe

Some of the LHD to RHD conversions are pretty slack - the indicators being one, the handbrake being the second, but the annoying one for me is the DSG +/- mode that should be TOWARDS the driver, not away from the driver. It's too much of a stretch to be comfortable/easy to use.

The sunvisor is too short. When you swing it round to the driver's window, there's a huge gap where the sun shines straight in your eyes.

I'd love the DSG gear display to be 4 or 5 times larger (ie just show the gear in use, not all the others as well).

The iPod interface both sucks AND blows.

The exhaust tips are of a scabby looking material, and fixed to the rest of the system so can't be easily altered.

The petrol cap holder defies belief. How about a simple hook on the inside of the lid?

Having said that, gee I love it.
