Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Resistance is futile.

Yet another one of those cool threads i've failed to notice.

Love those wheels Tim! Your car looks very neat, just how i would want mine to look if i owned a Mk5.

Yeah its a shame to put the wheels on the car really. Theyre brand spankers and such a thing of beauty! Now theyre gonna look used!
For anyone that isnt aware of these rims. Theyre an upgrade option on the new Audi TT. 19x9 ET52. Made by speedline.
I just love the way it has speedline stamped on every bolt!

Hopefully tomorrow ill get a chance to put my new black euro plates on.
I ended up getting V VW 337. I know its not a 337 model. but i figure if they can use that number for the mk4 as a tribute to the original GTI then I can use it as a tribute to the original GTI on my car

ok i got the rears on today. No spacers required. Although there is not a lot of clearance to the suspension linkage!

Went down the local industrial area and took a couple snaps. Im a newb when it comes to this DSLR stuff so theyre not the best. But anyways here goes.

hahaha I dont think i could! When i get my coilovers I will have to experiment a little to see what works.

On a side note. The new wheels are a little heavier. I think a couple kgs per corner. It really does take the edge off the performance of the car. Im not sure i will run them all the time. But im certainly quite happy with the result.

Its funny. I have the wheels for my VR6 in the garage. 16x7.5" SSRs that weigh 12lbs each. They felt light as a feather as I was shuffling things about
