Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I too usually associate eyelids with "rice" but the slim Mattig ones look the biz! Subtle in those pics!

Is there a matching front bumper and/or front lip for the Reiger gear? The rear looked good on the red GTI but the bad fitment on the CW wrecked it.

      well.
Sunday is car day. Cant wait till the days start getting longer so I can get more things done.
Couple of small mods out of the way today.

And i got most of my boost gauge install done as well. Not so hard once u know how. After a couple of hours of swearing

Alsoooo no pics yet but a few of you know im working on my crazy 19x9" rims.
Ive had some kumho KU31s put on the rims and did a test fit today. I think we have a winner! They bolted up no problems and the rim sits flush with the fender. Unfortunately there is only the width of a piece of paper clearance to the strut so im gonna need to space them a couple mm to be safe. Which will give me a little bit of poke. Just in case they dont fit im currently pricing up some seibon front fenders which are 10mm wider but still maintain the OEM look

Its all coming together slowly. Hopefully soon enough ill have something a bit unique. It gets old seeing a GTI on every corner!

My Tint was $350 from tintacar from memory. Its the midnight express tint that they advertise.

Quad exhaust is VERY expensive. You need a new rear valance and exhaust system. Id probly budget between $2000 and $3000 to do it properly

                                Okaaaaay its updaaaate tiiiime!
Test fit the wheels today with a 3mm spacer. Couldnt be happier with the fit other than the serious case of wheelgapitis my car has now. Went for a quick drive all seems well. Im sure they will manage to rub somewhere along the way under hard cornering but i punted it into a couple corners and no sign of scrubbing just yet. Local street full of speed humps didnt seem to upset anything either. One thing i did note is that the ride seems more comfortable?! I havent had a chance to check the tyre pressures just yet but perhaps the extra width of the 235s could be the reason behind that? Not sure yet.

But yeah. heres some pics. Just need to get busy and mildly lower the thing ASAP! Specs are 19x9 with a final ET of 49. Running 235/35/19 Kumho KU31s
