Wow, that was quite fast. Mine was unloaded the same time. It's been 11 days and the dealer still hasn't gotten back to me, not sure if it's still on the docks. What could be causing the hold up?
VW dealers seem to do things at their own pace.....ring them and annoy the crap out of them, get them off their backsides!

I didn't hassle him, but I did say that I wanted to see it as it came off the truck. He also knew that I knew where it was....
MY08 R32, DSG, Sunroof, RNS510
MY11 Audi Q5 3.0 TDI
And here it is, as it came off the truck. Planning on delivery next Friday.
Blue with latte leather, DSG and sunroof. There was another one there from the same delivery, that was identical apart from the interior colour....it was grey.
I called past the docks around lunchtime and noticed a crowd of wharfies tray sliding your car with massive donuts, round & round & round...
not really
Congratulations on your new ride - really nice colour combo (I'm suppressing jealousy here!)

I think some manufacturers used to use a thick wax on cars to protect the cars finish.
I work for suzuki and in my experience that doesnt happen, at least not by the time it gets to our dealership off a truck.
When the cars arrive off the boat from Japan i can use a tracking website and it does mention if the trucking wash has been completed or not. If at any stage there is a thick wax, it would more than likely be removed there because as i mentioned, when the cars arrive to us they do not have that on there.
What they do have is plastic covering the roof, bonnet, boot, parts of the bumper etc.
Every new car is given a very good clean with various products and given a soft wax.
