Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     R32 is here

    I've been following the travels of my R32 as it made its way from Germany to Melbourne (via Belgium, France, UK, South Africa, and Perth), and I was very pleased when the shipping site said it had been 'cleared' in Melbourne on Monday.

    Well, it's now Friday, and I've just had a phone call from the dealer, to advise me that they've got the car. Not ready for delivery yet, but I'm going out to see it, dirt and all.

    So, I guess it will be ready about the middle of next week. Downside is that I've got to go to work next week and will be away for 9 days. And I don't think the missus is going to wait for me.....

    Think it was a mistake to keep her informed as to when it would arrive!

      Congratz on your car mate, shame you'll be away for work... makes u wanna take a day or two off eh haha

      i literally just got off the phone with my dealer and he said that my jet is still 'on the dock' and not at the dealer.. but who cares, it's on australian soil!!!! booyah!

          I am another 8 weeks away! The wait is killing me! Ordered in July this year. What spec did you end up choosing? I opted for the 5Dr 6pd manual, sunroof, parking sensors, bluetooth....can't wait to hear/feel that exhaust rumble again! )))))

            And here it is, as it came off the truck. Planning on delivery next Friday.



            Blue with latte leather, DSG and sunroof. There was another one there from the same delivery, that was identical apart from the interior colour....it was grey.

              What wheels are they? More photos STAT! They don't look like the normal ones - kinda look like the ones off the Mk4 R32 wich IMO are the best looking OEM wheels ever made.

                they're the 08 spec wheels. i like them better TBH

                    Hmmm - 5dr, blue, sunroof, DSG, dark interior, Thats what I ordered in late june.....I hope its MINE!!!!!

                          Just got my VIN number and found out what ship my car is on and when its due to dock in Melbs. Internet is Good. S'pose someone will pop my balloon and say how it can take ages from dock to delivery......

                            My car was unloaded on the Saturday. Dealer had it 5 days later. Picking it up just on 13 days after unloading, though it could have been delivered earlier if I'd wanted it.

                              Wow, that was quite fast. Mine was unloaded the same time. It's been 11 days and the dealer still hasn't gotten back to me, not sure if it's still on the docks. What could be causing the hold up?
