Are you a P-Plater? only red p platers are restricted to auto only licenses (if they took the test in an auto). Once you get your full license you can drive what ever you want even if you had an auto only provisional license. I know this because I came from an auto only provisional license as well, also i was caught once driving a manual and the officer let me off on a warning, so i highly doubt its classed as driving unlicensed.

If you are a P-plater then forget the 2.0t jetta or GTI as they are on the restricted list.

As long as the car is <100k and <3yrs (aka still under its original warranty), then it can get the VW factory-badged Extended Warranty.
Just go to the sticky thread at the top of this section of the forum.
I did this for my BG Jetta @ 99.4k mileage and around 33mths of age!

Just found this jetta whilst looking interstate. It's VIC so I'm not really.... keen.... on travelling down, but does anyone know the process for buying interstate into QLD? Is it worth it for the saving of 2k ish?

There are a couple on Carsales under $20k but usually double these km. Might be worth the trip, IF you have your finance ready to go!

Basically, yeah. You're bound by the conditions set on your licence and if you do your test in an Auto car, you're stuck with those restrictions until you do another test in a manual car (and no, DSG doesn't count as manual ).
