That's correct, 2.0 TFSI and TSI Jetta's are DSG only.Originally posted by jessv3 View Postmate check trivetts at blacktown (sydney) Im just reading the paper and they are advertising a 07 2.0tsi jetta for 24,990 with only 30,000kms .. dunno how legit it is because they said its a "rare manual" as far as im aware the 2.0tsi jetta's were DSG only.06 Jetta 2.0TFSI Killed by a Lexus!

Check your keyboard - a TDI is one key away from TSI, so it's likely to be the former!Originally posted by jessv3 View Postmate check trivetts at blacktown (sydney) Im just reading the paper and they are advertising a 07 2.0tsi jetta for 24,990 with only 30,000kms .. dunno how legit it is because they said its a "rare manual" as far as im aware the 2.0tsi jetta's were DSG only.
Low kms for a diesel! Is it on Carsales? Worth checking just to see if it's advertised correctly there.Bizi's Jetta TDI: Blue Graphite w. factory leather & tint, plus + Enkei Racing NT03+M + Yokohama S Drive 18s, Koni FSD, Neuspeed coils, GTI RSB + brakes, InPro mirrors, VW navi, Modshack. Come for a drive through the twisties on Saturdaze.

OK got someone looking at my car tomorrow. Fingers crossed a sale will be negotiated!
If so I'm seriously looking at this GT 2007 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GT DSG V MY07 Private Cars For Sale in QLD - carsales.com.au looks great value and low kays. Do you all though think that the GTI is worth like another 4k and at 90xxx kays? I think this GT can provide adequate amounts of fun both driving and modding!
(oh yeah still contemplating that CW TFSI Jetta as well. Been on for a while now so maybe a good price could be produced!)

I'd prefer a larger capacity engine if looking to extract more performance; I'd expect that this GT's 1.4L engine is already in a fairly medium state of tune, so not as much tuning potential as a TFSI 2L petrol or TDI 2L.
A mate nearby in northern Sydney might be interested in selling his barely-used black GT, which I believe is a 2L TDI. Much better tuning potential and much more GTI like. Probably not as cheap, though as I think it's much newer.
Let me know by PM if you're interested, so I can pass it on to him. My mate's got a GTI Pirelli, so could sell the GT to make way for a Boxster or MX5.
Aside from that I still think there are a lot of Jettas which would suit your needs. Good luck with your own car sale.Bizi's Jetta TDI: Blue Graphite w. factory leather & tint, plus + Enkei Racing NT03+M + Yokohama S Drive 18s, Koni FSD, Neuspeed coils, GTI RSB + brakes, InPro mirrors, VW navi, Modshack. The 21-2k mark is the absolute limit of my budget so I unfortunately I don't think your mate will sell within that. I guess in terms of modding I just had a CAI, and an ecu in mind (possibly catback) I realised that the smaller engine does have it's limits but I think that one i listed is great value and I'm not sure if a GTI for around that same price but with 90xxx kays would be a better option, heck even if owners would let it go at the 21k mark.
Thus atm it is the GT or TFSI Jetta.

Stick with a Jetta. I was slightly shocked to see how cheap Jetta TDIs with high ks are going for on Carsales. TFSIs would likely be not much more, so a TFSI's a good option for you. Plus the car would be fully loaded, too.
Get the full potential with such a 2L car. Rather than be limited by budget, save more and then have more options.
After all, if you're going to be spending more money, you might as well spend it on a better car! Good luck with the saving, searching and buying.

The only diffirence in the size of a A5 Golf, compared to the A5 Jetta would be the boot.
I agree with Bizi,I also prefer the Jetta,as beleive you are getting more car for the money....
I have been told because of the boot,Jettas in stock form handle better than stock Golfs.
Good luck with your sale, what car are you selling ???

I would expect less rear flex due to having that metal at the back. Not sure if it's proven but my car seemingly outhandles a particular Pirelli.Originally posted by anthony View PostThe only diffirence in the size of a A5 Golf, compared to the A5 Jetta would be the boot.

If I was you I would be seriously looking at that GT. That's a good price for the kms and i can see a sunroof in the photo too. As for tuning you can get 151kw and 317nm with the APR tune. I get to drive both a Jetta and a Golf. The Jetta doesn't feel like a big car to drive, but the Golf just feels more nimble and handles better. I'd be trying to get a car with low kms and a good service histroy in your price range.Originally posted by deewhy View PostOK got someone looking at my car tomorrow. That's rude. Obviously she doesn't care. I hope you get more inquiries.Originally posted by deewhy View PostOK guys update time! The woman has bailed and not answering her phone much to my frustration. I really don't see the point in saying you want to have a look and not showing up. *shrugs* The wait continues
Unless you are able to work something out in terms of a deposit on a sale I think you should not commit to a particular car for sale until you can afford to buy it.
Other cars always come up.
