Hey do you reckon there'd be any legal issues with buying tyres from the States? As in, would there be some nitpicking ADR that would prevent this from being viable?

        gunna look like this........

Just waiting on Andres @ tirerack to confirm shipping and take my $'s!

Starting to get that nervous, pent up excitement feeling again........modding is a wonderful (if expensive) way of life

Feedback wanted: am thinking colour coding the grille and badging to match the rims. Thoughts? Windows are a really dark tint and with the dark rims, was thinking of eliminating all the "bling" and trying somehting alittle different.

I think it will look a lot better colour coded than the chrome that's on it now.

Man, I've sent emails to Eric @ Tire Rack and www.1010tires.com and nobody there will respond, much less with a price to ship wheels to Australia.

Hey Blur32 what offset did you order for your OZ Ultraleggera rims?
Most places i find only supply +35 which most people say won't fit or will rub.....

I so want these rims too....... but they are just so hard to find.

Hey I just noticed you're from Albury. Have you bumped into YellowDieselGolf and his stunning Mk4 GTI?

Davoaldo: OZ do these rims in various offsets. I have ordered the following -

                    18"x8" 5x112 ET45

45mm offset is as low as you would want to go with an 8" rim. If you went to ET30/35 you would be poking out side of the guards and would then have rubbing/scraping problems.

minigolf: Would that be a silver body kitted, wide-rimmed, always clean, never slow one?

If so, no I haven't as yet as I have been unable to pin it down. Seen it a few times and it looks very sweet. Looks like an Oettinger kit??

Here you go, it's even dirty!

That's Pete, he's a good guy, you'll find him in the Mk4 section of this site.

He has the Oettinger grille, but AFAIK the rest is the OEM Votex kit.

Oh, I got a price back from www.1010tires.com for shipping. Not terribly useful in terms of detail as I'm not sure if it was from their Canadian location or the US, or how long it should take, but anyway the price for them to send wheels they gave me was US$550.

Once I'm fair dinkum I guess the best ploy would be to ring them up.

                          Cheers Liam

minigolf: I got quoted $235USD from the US for the freight on mine. Confirmed the quote this morning. $550 seems just a little bit steep.

And that's definitely the Mk4 I've seen around. Sweet ride

Good stuff, is that price through TireRack, or someone else? Hey, I started looking at over AU$1K so it's getting better all the time.

                              Cheers Liam

Liam: that was from tirerack (see attached).

I got to the same in Aus$'s as well.....these will be landed and taxed (if they get taxed) at 1/2 the last price I got OZ Aust.

I emailed Andres and let him know that there may be a few more people contacting him.......
