Thanks mate...good to see them being put to good use! Funny that the distributor expressly told my local dealer that "they weren't suitable for track work". Seem to be doing fine there

Have you got any static shots of the Mk4?

I'm running the Superleggeras which were superseded by the Ultraleggeras you have. Did you get them from OZ Racing Australia, they are the distributor for OZ Wheels here.

        Vince Spinello
        O.Z Australia
        Telephone 03. 9429 8482

Ring and speak to Vince he will let you know if they are okay for track work.

I have plenty of static shots in my gallery on Rdefined at

quozl: That is one sweet looking R32....might just have to go and sticker mine up to get some real credibility....and ggod to see it being used as well. I got the rims thru my local Bob Jane outlet, know the boys, so all good! Called Vince anyway and he didn't want to know as BJ buy thru YHI and not them, fair enough. But, see next post and you'll see why I'm a little scared.....

            AArrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh

Me and damn wheels....months of searching, fitting the gifts from the princess and then finally ordering something I really like.....only....

The distributer sent them with 12mm stud bolts instead of 14mm. So I am sitting here tonight, pissed off and stuck with the car the same as it was 3 hours ago......devastated!

Now have to wait for up to 3 weeks for the correct stud bolts to be sent from Italy, unless.....

I try quozl's contact at the official importer and see if they have any in stock.

              tirerack.com

landed in four days and $650 a piece when the dollar was crap (all tax and duty paid) 18x8 FWIW. You are the only other person I know of with these on an R32/GTI in OZ, but mine are black.

Hi I'm Andrew, last car was R-B Liberty hence the name. In Melbourne

Thanks, there's some good shots of the interior mods in my gallery as well. The stickers come off after each event but without the support I get from those guys it would be a lot harder to do the events.

I would just call Vince yourself, I ordered directly form him and had no problems at all, he event threw in the lock nuts though I don't use them any more.

Make sure you post some pics once you have the new wheels on.

                  Cheers Al

You Have Got To Be Kidding..............

Just had a call from my local supplier for my rims. Last update was that they were getting the 14mm stud bolts sent from Italy. Well, guess what....

....they are now telling me that you cannot get 14mm stud bolts for these rims!!!! What the fu....

quozl: am going to call your man again and see if he can help me out, ie: will buy the rims from him instead.

Vince gave me a deal including rims, wheel bolts for all wheels, 4 OZ locking bolts with socket to unlock them and some carbon centre caps. He should be able to help you as he is the importer for OZ in Australia. He will usually barter a bit too.

                      Good Luck

                      Cheers Alastair

ouch........your man gave me a quote of nearly $400 more per rim! I may have to investigate going r-btype's path and sourcing from OS. Although i does scare me slightly spending a lot on some that, if cocked, simply wont fit, from OS......r-btype: can you put my fears to rest?

No, your not missing anything. There are 2 importers of OZ rims into Australia. OZ Racing Australia as the "official" arm and YHI who parallel import with OZ factory approval. One sells the correct fitment and one does not.

My problem is that (after lots of previous dramas buying wheels interstate) I decided to purchase from my local BJ store. Unfortunately, YHI do not know their product that well or have access to the entire range. Hence they can only provide 5x114.3 stud patterns and NO 14mm bolts.....hence they will not fit. THIS IS CONTRARY TO THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THEM OVER THE PHONE: "Yes we can do them to fit an R32".....and then send a product that was not what was described. Conversly, OZ Aust CAN provide a 5x112 stud pattern and the correct 14mm bolts, at a very hefty premium ($400 PER rim)

What has bugged me is the lack of knowledge, carefactor and range that YHI have....which I found out about after i had ordered in good faith. My local BJ store has been great and are as disillusioned with YHI as I am. Why are these guys selling prodcuts which are clearly not suitable and of which they have no understanding of????? And where they knowingly send out something that must use comprised components to fit (adjusting bolts)?

Did you ask Vince if he would match the price of YHI? Will BJ get them from OZ Australia for you at the previously agreed to price?

Al: I think that Vince is just a little miffed that I went BJ/YHI 1st.....although I did that for the reasons stated above, ie: assumed that the glossy OZ brochure on BJ's counter told the full story! he was not interested in "negotiating" at all. Got the impression that only he could source the 5x112 and that was the price. Mind you, I can understand where he is coming from.

Yep, BJ tried to source from Vince, but his quoted price to them was only marginally under what he quoted me, meaning still miles out.

The really silly thing is: tirerack.com have them in stock, can ship in 6 days, have the right stud pattern/offset, choice of finishes and can supply for $375AUD given the current exchange rate. Freight is only $200AUD. Even if i have to pay40% import, they are still only $526 each.
