Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

yeah that 14.0 was my one and only run that night.. thought Id easily have run a 13 with a couple more runs.. Pretty happy with the 102 trap tho. For stage 2 thats pretty good, the front mount doesnt really do much for power.

Yeah theres some quick MPS' theres a guy running 13.06's stock ko4 turbo..

My car has seemed a bit slower lately, I'm still on original dv and pcv with 60k's.. I dunno

yeah 3rd gear onwards is a no brainer.. off the line with a smooth clean piece of grippy road I dont think there would be much in it.. Im not sure what 60ft times guys are doing in 32's but I've been able to a 2.1 once or twice

yeah sounds ok, i'm not really up with what a good run is for each stage/mods.
        I'd like to think i could get a 14.0-14.5.

it'd prob come down to how hard you wanna launch it.. havnt seen or heard of one going quicker than a 14.7 locally yet so why dont you get out there?

No gay stereo excuses. Just do it anyway.

Yeah, I sold my helmet but may get a cheapie anyway, wont hurt doing a run or two. But i'd take the spare out which is fair as i can't be bothered taking the sub out.

I picked up one of those matte black open face ones for 50 bucks from Honda..

Its a good time to go out now as it gets warmer it gets quieter.. bummer is you get slower.

This is such a silly therad. Everyone knows you get more gains by modding a tbo than you do an n/a. N/a cars are more linear in acceleration and sound way better than a tbo imo.

If you wanna go fast buy a brand new 195kw wrx and mod that! $4-$5 will get you 200kw atw. But who cares?

Yeah it's about the whole package and quality of drive. Just get a murder-cycle if you want to go fast!!

                      Put it away Chris, .

                      They aren't heaps different anyway.
(most skylines with a few mods would beat both).

The R32 and GTI are TOTALLY different cars in the way the drive and the market they are aimed at.
As I have said before .. Some people look at the car for the potential it has in turning it into a great car. Others look at a car and appreciate the car as it is, for what it is. I think that is where the difference is between GTI and R32 owners.
Also, spec up a GTI similar to a R32 and the price difference isn't $20K
BTW, with the tight-ass restrictions on speed etc, WTF cares how hard the car will pull at 160 km/hr. Throw in some crap road surfaces, any sort of incline, dust or rain and the FWD GTI will go faster backwards. And modding it to 1000000FWKW will just compound the issue. The R32 is no race car but there are people who kid themselves that the GTI is.
Just be happy with what you drive. If not, then change. These threads just turn into a shlong swinging contest before too long
