i have confirmed that the car i just bought first registered 08/08/08 has an expiration of 29th of july on its warranty possibly due to when vw delivers the car to the dealer ???

I was always under the impression that the 3 year Warranty started from the day of being first registered , am i missing some thing here?

Indeed the new car warranty starts the day the car is first registered. The extended one only starts when the original expires.

So if VW registers the car, it starts from the date they (VW) register the car, and not the pruchase date.
Bah, too confusing, I'll ring VW to find out when mine expires (I'm not the original owner).

That is correct. How is that confusing?

It'd be easier if they just said the warranty starts from the day the car is registered, regardless of who registers it.
I would of happily gone along thinking that since the owner purchased a 'new' car in April, it would be 3 yrs from April, but this isn't the case.

I contacted Jamil who referred me to Rashid. Contacted Rashid by email and it was all done in the blink of an eye. Got my VW New Car Extended Warranty today at the price of $1438.90

And by the way, which one applies to my golf, "new vehicle extended warranty" or the "used vehicle extended warranty"?

If your vehicle is still covered by the original "factory new car warranty" I recommend you go for the "new vehicle extended warranty" as I just did myself.

I just got an extended new car factory warranty from Jamil at Chatswood Classic Cars for $1522. I was pretty happy with that.
