        • Pardon my ignorance. Do both VW and Allianz policy require the car to be serviced by no one but VW dealers during the extended period? As far as I am aware, I can go independents for the first three years without affecting the original warranty, but I will have to stick with VGA authorised service facility from the fourth year.

          • As long as it's a registered and licensed mechanic, any should be fine.

              • has anyone made a claim with the 3 year Allianz non VW warranty?

is the process the same or differnt?

                • yes, if you go to VW dealer, they should be taking care of the claim, at least with my experience...

                  • I spoke to Klosters and the refused to give me a new car extended warranty because im the second owner of the car still under the new car warranty.

Does this make a difference in terms of extended warranty?

I can't see how the warranty being purchased by the original owner or the current owner makes any difference. Just tell them you changed your name!

                        • The extended warranty is rubbish - dont bother with it. So many exclusions and it only covers $1,000 in parts. Pffft.

Plus you have to keep getting your car serviced at the dealership so....
                          1) You keep getting ripped off by their inflated servicing prices
                          2) Your car is worked on by apprentices
                          3) If you move cities / state your warranty is voided unless you return the car to the original dealership for a service each time (hardly possible if you move cities let alone states).

Which warranty are you talking about?

Have you actually read the PDS for the VW/Allianz new car extended warranty?

Because what you have said above is all wrong.

                              • He must be. Because I would never had bought a warranty that was limited to $1000 per claim etc.
