my ears heard correctly
All,
apologies for the HUGE delay. after much anticipation i can confirm, that firstly i did hear correctly but secondly, as many here have said... the increase is actually 100HP!
basically the mods were as previously stated: high flow fuel injectors, chip and exhaust to yeild an additional 100HPstill not a bad increase but i'll admit that my information was incorrect.
i guess i got a bit tooand should have confirmed the info before posting. Anyways, hopefully i'll get to see the car in the near future and i'll all too happily post my findings.
thanks all for your patience'81 Sigma| Sports Steering Wheel| Rust

230 - 240hp should be achievable. 270hp probably not on the stock blowers
(ABT claim 210hp with a chip, Oettinger 205)
Throwing all that money on a 1.4 GT would also cost similar money to a GTI with a chip that will get an easy 250hp anyway.
(Might be more of a price difference between the two engines with the Mk6 so could make more sense there)2021 Passat 206TSI

at the end of the day the claimed 100hp extra is a rough estimate until i see a dyno chart to back it up. but here's hoping'81 Sigma| Sports Steering Wheel| Rust

An exhaust + injectors + tune for same price as oettinger tune $2500 would actually be good value!
All Oettinger need to do is put the crack pipe down and give the tune for a reasonable $1000 and then $1500 for exhaust and injectors.
They still have not posted before and after dyno sheets of a customer car and as far as I know, not even 1 1.4TSI has been flashed apart from the test car.
Has anyone bought the oettinger tune!??!? EPIC FAIL!Last edited by POLARBEAR666; 25-05-2009, 09:14 PM.*Disclaimer - Don't rely on me, seek your own professional advice. Audi R8 E-tron. 230kw 4500nm! (not a typo).

Polar,
Sorry you don't like the Oettinger price - Yes people are running the software & its done with the new Oettinger tool (MED17.5 ECU's). The price includes their warranty (which may not be your choice, but lot's of people like this option).
Unfortunately we do not get price reductions because we are in Australia (and people cry over it on the forums). Plenty of people get flashed with Oettinger software every week, in just about every state of Australia.
Old story - don't like the price - don't buy the product!

Old story - don't like the price - don't buy the product!I am more than happy to be corrected but as it stands you still have not provided before after dyno sheets or any evidence of anything. A/F ratio plots, boost plots etc. Also the warranty is worthless, you have to PROVE that it was the ECU that caused the problem and how is anyone going to do that.
I think your just fibbing that you have sold some. Prove me wrong!Last edited by POLARBEAR666; 26-05-2009, 11:04 AM.*Disclaimer - Don't rely on me, seek your own professional advice. Audi R8 E-tron. 230kw 4500nm! (not a typo).

Come for a visit to our office - you might be surprised!
We guess they have sold about 3100 - 3400 1.4 TSI's in Australia. (from all the sales figures we have been given)
From what I gather there are about 5 owners on this forum? (correct me, I could be wrong, there may be a heap more?)

Love to visit the office... if only brisvegas wasn't on the other side of the planet.
Guy, If APR owns oettinger is there any chance APR will be releasing the Oettinger tune but without the warranty and therefore $500 cheaper??!!*Disclaimer - Don't rely on me, seek your own professional advice. Audi R8 E-tron. 230kw 4500nm! (not a typo).

i looked at the Oettinger for my TDi.. though the bluefin at $720AUS delivered was too good to pass.. Not to mention i am free to flash and reflash as i see fit..
And i get to see and dismiss fault codes too..2005 MkV Golf 2.0TDi 103 - DSG - Heated Leather - Tint - Audi 17" - Lowered - Bluefin Tune.
2016 MkVII Golf 2.0TDi 110 - Wagon. Fully Optioned. Lowered on Eibachs. RS3 Black 18s. Mk8 Head Unit. VCDS Tweaks - Bluefin Tune

before this gets ugly
if i may para phrase polar, guy. i think what polar was originally getting at was, how many 1.4L TSI's have you sold an upgrade to and do you have any dyno charts to show the power/ torque increases from these clients?
do you have any client reviews that you may be able to refer us to?
cost aside, i'm interested in the real world feedback from other TSI'ers who have experience with an upgrade.
