Insurance law from way back is based on "Uberrima Fides", the principle of "Utmost Good Faith", which means if they know all about the object and or person being insured, they can set a fair premium to cover the risk. They have the right to set the premium, and the right to accept or decline your proposal. You have the right to accept or decline their counter-offer, and you have the right to go elsewhere if you don't like them or their offer.

But as soon as you don't disclose something, they can justifiably void the policy if they would not have insured you had they known, and that can mean a rejected claim.
Oh no, we have a lawyer in our midst!

Doesn't work with Sat Nav I'm told..

Otherwise I'd be happily voiding the warranty there too!

The satnav still has the stick up screw on antenna though so all you do is swap them around. The stick up antenna is only for radio, the round part that sticks out the front is the gps antenna (if you have factory sat nav).

Only a problem with AM radio I hear.

So only R32 owners are affected

                  Who listens to AM .

I'm talking with regards to my Alpine HU, the stock one most likely you couldnt hear the difference. But in all seriousness the stubby can't get a good signal in the garage or in carparks.

Must be where you're using yours

                    Go the stubby!

I've got a stubby and it's OK around the city ... but go any distance out
                      and reception gets pretty patchy.

Its also the fact that they could have been earing a much higher premium from you, and so have in fact been providing you cover on the cheap

seems to be a bug in the site - every so often, I'll discover a 'new' thread that has been around for a few weeks and a few hundred posts

                            wierd!

Yeah mate that was me. The original setup was a little low, and I was having issues with the tyre touching under _extreme_ cornering (the point just beyond where the ESP kicks in.. hehe)..

Anyway it's all good know. John knows his stuff and it's set up just right. It's a tad higher than I'd hoped, but that's OK. There's not much clearance under the Mk5's guards, so if you want it low low, you have to trade off cornering speed. I wasn't prepared to do that, so now it's about 20mm lower than standard Pirelli, or about 45mm lower than a regular GTI.. Looks good.

John raised the front for me on the spot so I could get to my track day, but then I brought it back the following weekend to get the rears matched up.

I'm now sold on some byoootiful new rims, I just need to save up some beans, cos they cost about $1500 each. yow.

Then there's the upgraded Intercooler and Fuel pump. Won't add much in the way of power, but it'll let me finish what I started. The car's had a diet too (taken out spare wheel, toolkit, jack etc), but the upgraded wheels should make a big difference to rolling resistance. It would be getting very close to 5.0 sec 0-100 now, the wheels should hopefully get it under.
