By the time it's all said and done (suspension yet to come), it'll be about 15k.

I've got my eye on a LSD next..... That would be a very worthy upgrade.

Wow very nice I like this build thread approach

Probably worth doing your intake aswell before your LSD get some more air flowing through the engine

It doesn't need any more power, trust me, it's crazy enough already.

I think even if the option were there, I wouldn't take it.

I wanted to spend the $$'s on getting better handling and better braking. The exhaust was purely a bit of a 'pose' factor more than anything else. It may have added a few KW, but nothing compared to the tune.

Those KW coilovers are the only piece of the puzzle missing, and very likely a LSD too.. Just not too sure I want to void what warranty I've got left on the car by pulling the DSG box apart though...

Just getting a bit sick of the wheelspin at 30-50km/h and the car pulling off to the right.. haha....

You can literally accelerate normally from the lights, and if you flatten it at 50km/h, it starts spinning the front wheels (usually the front right first).. And remember, these are 245 pirelli p-zeros we're talking about.

Brilliantly done with great attention to detail. This for me further emphasizes "You get what you pay for!!"

Great photos also really enjoyed reading your thread.

Have you found the DSG to have any issues with the increased power after the tune, this is the only thing holding me back from doing it.

Well.. not yet... So far all the gears are still inside the gearbox.... The only issue I have is with wheelspin and subsequent quasi-torque steer. The car seems to realise it's doing it, and corrects, but it's still a little unsettling.

Its got its first track day next week, so lets see if it manages to come away with 6 gears in the gearbox. I don't to leave 4th gear in turn 1....

Gearbox will be fine - unless you throw it in reverse at 100 or so!

Here is a DSG with ~ 300kw so people can get an approx idea on how quick these things are:

Audi A3 with APR's 2.0T FSI DSG Stage 3 gauges.

From my reading, there are a large number of DSG cars in Aus, UK, USA with Stage 1, 2, and 3 chips/kits/flashes, and there is no identifiable DSG problem. Most of the kits/chips/flashes will retard the torque to 350nm, and some up to about 420nm or so.

The Nurburgring Sciroccos ran flat out with 300hp and 350nm for 24 hours with no gearbox trouble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COGD9iFPmpA

I think you can feel safe with a stage 1 flash of around 250hp / 320nm (std GTI) or a bit more horses for the Pirelli.

                            very very nice.

I don't know if I could stomach spending that much $$$ for brakes but props to you for going all out on each mod you did!

I have KW V1's and love them so much. I am sure you will enjoy your 3's more and more over time as you see how good they are over bumps and in every situation. I speed over speed bumps where my stock suspension would float and bang.

If only I wasn't a poor student and could afford a pirelli....

Man if I owned a TSI when I was a student, I would have been one happy dood.

You should have seen the piece of **** I was driving around back in those days. 180Bs were considered the ultimate students car... I wasn't so lucky.

                              But I digress..
