My speedo is pretty spot on.

The polo speedo will be like the golf speedo and read ~10% too fast.

I read somewhere VW quoted 8% for safety reasons.

I'll let you in on a little secret Branko, and you have to promise to tell no one...That night I took you guys for that quick drive, and I was saying how much better the Polo was after the tune, yet I hadn't driven the car for 5 weeks due to the accident....Well, I was holding the cruise control 'set' button on for too long, and the tune wasn't engaging, soooooo...ummmm, I was stupid, and the Polo was running stock....

When I am down next time, I will give you a run again.

First and second arn't earth moving in the Polo GTI, but the help where it count's, like in the windy stuff, but I think the best bit about the APR tuned Polo is the third gear 80 to 120km/h acceleration...It really is a hoot.

Not safety reasons but to comply with ADR 18/03 which is based on UNECE 39/00 Revision 1.

POLO should be faster... the smaller your engine the more manly you are. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

This especially applies to that mad suzuki swift with no engine work that came 4th at one of tinto's motorkahnas in front of track prepped EVO's and STI's. Talk about driving it like he stole it from the guy who stole it.

Who REALLY cares? I reckon they are both awesome beasties, and if you're feeling inadequate because of your CAR, well you got issues.

It is humourous how the GTI guys duke it out, much like the GT guys, and I wonder if the Comfortline and Sportline crew glare at each other?

They can't see far enough to glare at each other because they forgot to take their reading glasses off.

As has been posted time and time again by myself, Greg and many others, you have to be happy with your own car yourself. It's your car, you have to drive it everyday or whatever. If you don't like it why did you buy it in the first place, go and sell it and buy whatever it is that you think is going to put a grin on your face.

Yes it's nice to be able to beat bigger more expensive cars, yes it's nice to know your cars a bit of a sleeper or whatever but hell if you can't hack it if something is faster than your own car you're going to be miserable and that just plain sucks.

                    Happy times.
                    Cheers,
                    Trent

                      I still say theres a 5 second 0-100km/h in a polo Gti..

I know someone with Audi a4 with 3.2 litre dsg... Quoted 0-100km/h in mid 6s.

                      my Polo Gti is faster..

Yeah but a chipped Tiguan makes 420+NM (@3000rmin) not the 250odd a Bora makes and will be quite lethal off the line. Think Audi S3 (188kw/350NM) in 5.7s against Tiguan of the same weight with 190kw/420NM. Quicker than any chipped GTI thats for sure.

Also, any car doing less than 14.3 on a qrtr will be below 6s 0-100km/h. Both Polo and Golf have proven that this can be done. Polo modded beyond just a chip will crack 6s easily. But then again Golf (DSG) with a chip only will do 13.7 .........

Does the 2.0L turbo run a K03 turbo or bigger?

The 2.0L runs a KO3 and the Pirelli runs a K04 and different internals in the engine.

                              Pretty likely, I'd say.

Polo GTI kerb weight approx. 1160 kg
Audi A4 3.2 kerb weight approx. 1650 kg

That extra 500 kg trumps any quattro system.

Let alone any chipping &c done on the Polo - that 1.8 has been around since Moses played half back for Egypt, and has more upgrades available for it than I've had hot dinners. The range of kW & Nm from stock to 'fully sik' is astounding... talk about room to move
