Ignition key refuses to go in? any ideas

Try some powdered graphite or lock lubricant spray from Bunnings or your hardware store of choice. Locks do need regular lubrication.

Is worst stuff to use as it leaves a residue which attracts dust and will only block it up more. Either Graphite or Silicone spray is the stuff to use

I hope OP was talking about the wd40 lock lubricant.
WD40 make a bunch of stuff now.

So do I as ordinary original WD 40 is not a lubricant, it is a penetrate for loosening stuck nuts and leaves a sticky residue so is unsuitable in this instance. But people have come to think it is a magic solution for everything. It isnt
